Does eating a rare steak = eating blood?

i always wondered about this when i was still a jw.

i just assumed that it was improper for a jw to eat any meat that wasn't thoroughly cooked, especially steak.

i though everyone could see that the red juice contained blood, which, if eaten, amounted to a violation of the prohibition against eating blood.

Public Speaking - the right way

i'm taking a public speaking class and i find it very interesting that they advocate different things than the wts did while i was in and enrolled in the school.

for one, and the biggest of them all, is that you never speak for more than 20 minutes top, as the human brain can't really absorb anymore - information overload!!

so why in the hell do they have day long conventions and one or two hour meetings?

Owning Cats discouraged by JWs? Was that ever anything taught in the Truth?

i came across a sight a while back where an overseer posted a topic on cats having pagan and worship origins, and giving scriptural reason why "true christians" should avoid owning cats.. this was a site from someone not in america.. any experiences on this at all?

i had a witness say this was obviously posted by the "evil slave", and was not a witness, cause that's never been taught by the fds.. what can you tell me?.

a friend pointed out to me that "theistic evolution" is, in essence, no different than intelligent design.

both postulate a creator that is behind creation.

both use the words "creation" and "creator.

Society's claim of Matt. 24:14 being fulfilled - What it could really mean

i've had this thought for quite a while and wonder if fits with the recent talk about the wts claiming that matt.

24:14 has been fulfilled.

my thought was this --- in the wake of the recent cutbacks at bethel, scaling back of literature, and other cost cutting measures, could the wts be preparing the r&f for the complete or massive reduction of literature that would normally be placed with "householders?

some individuals truly enjoy being jehovah's witnesses.

i think about those that would have liked to be in acting.

well, having a part in a demonstration in the service meeting or giving a talk in the theocratic ministry school gives one the opportunity to act, be melodramatic, show a little comedic talent,etc.

i know of a couple of elders that regularly went out in the ministry throughout the week.

no matter which street they were on, they always seemed to be near the same spot.

someone here talked about the michael jackson moonwalk.

what happened with the 6000 years?.

jehovah's witnesses are generally very ignorant about the watchtower society history.

most of them would benefit greatly from reading older issues of the watchtower and other literature published by the society in earlier years.
