I think the GB's leanings now are to liberalize the blood doctrine as much as possible. Not that they really want to, but I'm sure their lawyers have made them well aware of the consequences of continuing a hard-line stance on the issue. I think any new technologies that are developed, short of taking whole components of blood, will be a considered a conscience issue. Personally, I think the society wishes the blood ban had never been instituted. Now they are really up sh*t creek trying to figure out a way to get around it without doing a complete about face. The blood doctrine is giving them a lot of negative PR, is opening them up to potential monetary liability, and is providing an obstacle with the government in many foreign countries.

Did you use to believe that all the annoited ones contributed information
by troubled mind inwhen i was little there were several elderly ones in our hall that were of the annointed class .
i was lead to believe that they sent in surveys of a sort to the society regularly.
about their opinoins on theocratic matters .i was told that they ,all the annointed, contributed material to the magazines .

I certainly believed this until I got baptized, became a regular pioneer, took tours of Bethel, spoke with several Bethelites, and realized how the organization really worked. That's certainly the impression that the society gave off in their publications. They taught (and they still do, with several modifications) that the FDS was composed of all of the anointed. Jesus supposedly appointed the FDS to oversee all of his "domestics." Therefore, it stands to reason that all of the anointed, at least the men, took part in the framing of JW theology. Not so. I later came to see the GB as a sort of elder body for the FDS that oversaw the whole thing. But it didn't make sense. It still doesn't.
However, most in the congregations still held on to the belief that those that claimed to be anointed hold some sort of special insights from God, that they somehow play a leadership role. I knew of some congregations with self-professed anointed that had people come up to them and ask for their advice, even circumventing the local BOE. The society's "new light" on 1935 and the calling of the anointed shoots down any possible belief that the non-GB anointed have any special relationship with Jehovah. The article clearly states that they have no special insights of any kind, only the GB does. I think this was a move designed to consolidate power in the GB's hands. They probably heard of so-called anointed that were trying to bring attention to themselves and give their own spin on doctrine. There are expelled JWs that claim to be of the anointed that have set up websites teaching their own version of JW theology. The GB came down with an iron fist to try to put a stop to that.

Is the 2008 version of the Watchtower really about saving money?
by neverendingjourney inwhen i first heard of the new watchtower arrangement, i immediately thought it was another in a long line of cost-cutting moves.
i thought they were interested in cutting the overall number of magazines they print every month.
so if they printed 20 million copies every 15 days, they could now print seven or eight million out of one of the monthly editions and cut over 10 million of magazines a month.

So, now with the less magazines to offer for the whole month, it seems there could be an impact with the magazine route process.
That's a good point that I hadn't thought about. I just wonder how many less magazines a month they will be publishing when the switch is fully implemented. My guess is that the cost savings will be significant, but not as much as I originally thought.

June 12th is tomorrow, are you ready for armageddon?
by dawg inisn't tomorrow armageddon?
i think i'll sleep late just in case... an elder called my friends house and said that armageddon was almost certain to come this year; an urban myth stated that it would be tomorrow.
i guess i'll wait to make that car payment.

before jesus was hung we did not have the chance to be saved because of what we inherited from adam and eve, so now those who decide to worhship him will be saved.
If you want to worship Jesus, the Jehovah's Witnesses are not the religion for you.

I thought I was going to find a witness on here I guess not sorry i bortherd you all
Yes, if you are looking for people to tell you how wonderful the JW version of God is and how great and wonderful his "loving organization is," you've come to the wrong spot. You are unlikely to find such a spot on the internet because "Jehovah's channel" has prohibited JWs from participating on online forums that discuss matters of faith.
However, if you want to see a different side of what you believe to be Jehovah's organization, a side that you've never seen before, this is the place for you. If you want to read about things the society does not want you to know, this is the place for you. If you want to think for yourself instead of having to repeat the slogans that are shoved into your brain by the JWs, this is the spot for you. If not, you are wasting your time here rambling on about how great Jehovah is and how wonderful his organization is. We've already been there. We know what it's all about.

I give up. Ariana just keeps repeating slogans that's she's been taught. She doesn't answer any questions that are being posed. Nor does she give any logical reasons why she believes as she does. Hopefully any JWs that are trying to decide whether or not to leave can see her words and see how silly and fanatical JWs, or prospective JWs, sound when trying to defend their faith.

Okay, last try.
You repeat slogans that you've been taught, but there is no logic to anything you say. You don't back up your conclusions by any form of a logical argument. You apparently believe these things because you want to believe them or because you've simply accepted them as truth. Jehovah is good; Jehovah is kind; Jehovah has true followers; Jehovah is proud of me; but why? Why do you believe any of this is true?

I don't want to be rude, but this poor woman can't spell or form an intelligent sentence. She makes for a perfect prospect for conversion.

infact he his proud of me right now for taking the time to mention his name when no one else will and actually believeing that he is real I am defending our farther in heaven I feel so good about that right now
If only you knew that your replies don't make any sense and we can barely understand what you are writing. If you think that you are somehow defending God by repeating illogical slogans that we've all heard thousands of times, well you are sadly mistaken.
