its all about marking.
you doesnt need to argue against critical information. just make the person who says it unreliable.
whole internet = all lies
whole apostate group = satans minion and liars (ALL!)
any person who says anything critical = liars!
they're all the same. regardless what they say its a lie.
its so easy to misled ppl so that they cant see the truth even if its in their face.

We had a JW at the door today...how I handled it..
by megsmomma inmy first instinct was to tell him to go away and my husband was going to answer the door and i said, just tell him we are disfellowshipped.
(i am da'd....he hasn't ever been, but, he is "guilty by association" and conciders himself da'd too...).
so, it is one older man and he is handing out the "follow the christ" convention invitation.

Most Ex-JWs R Not Active in the Anti-JW Community. Maybe 1%? Any thoughts?
by Seeker4 inyesterday i called a family on the west coast that were in my congregation 18 years ago.
between parents, kids and marriage partners, there were six of them who had been witnesses.
they have all faded, and have had nothing to do with the witnesses for at least 15 year or more.. yet, none of them is in any way active even in looking at the ex-jw sites online.

i think thats just because most ppl dont think much about "the truth". they leave because they want to do things which are forbidden in the group or are disappointed by things happened in the local congregation - some of them still believe its the "truth". thats all. not very much leave because of false doctrines other signs without having a "sin" in first place. thats how i view in imho. and its not unlogical. you HAVE to quit thinking when joining the JWs... no wonder that most of'em dont start after leaving.
thats no insult, its a way of life. sometimes i wish i could stop argueing with myself. its senseless most of the time. -

since our (and creations) imperfection wasnt just punching some holes into a perfect shape but a act of design (http://www.freewebs.com/oolon/SMOGGM.htm) is the question WHO did this act of design? (as we know from WTS teaching, any complex object NEEDS a constructor)
since "Sin" isnt a person (is it?) it has to be someone else.
my mum used to blame satan for it, when i asked her that question (when i was 12 or somthing :-O).
was it god who did it? is that righteous?

i dont intelligence protects from the believe in creation ;D
no, seriously, i think im not too dumb and i can basically believe in both. its hard to believe both versions. i tend a little to evolution but... yay... in the end noone knows definately.
i think humans should be "truthelists" and look at both possibilities unbiased and equally. thats smart. but evolutionists and creationists both dont do that often enough. -

when newton calculated something he was/is wrong about it like everyone else.
jesus said that noone knows the hour and thats it. noone knows it. (omg, i want to meet noone now to ask him O_o)
if it will happen it will happen at a time noone has calculated.
there is no hint in the bible which gives christians the right to calculate any date.
thats the biggest problem with 1914. if the god wanted us to calculate 1914 we wouldnt need to calculate it by jumping around in the bible and add a big pile of assumptions to it.
my prophecies about jws:
- 1914 will be abandoned (will take some dozens of years from now and needs a new justification for the WTS being the FDS)
- blood doctrine will be abandoned (i think max 10-15 years from now) -

Why is it so hard for a JW to admit when they are wrong about anything?

JWs cant be wrong. and when they are they receive new light and after that they arent wrong once again. and only a fool would examine the past. the current doctrine is truth per definition.

"Evil Laugh"
by Briguy injust wondering if anyone else has aquired the "evil" laugh after they stopped being a jw?.
few months ago with-in my family (the non-witness side) i confided about many of the things i have come to learn from this site and other sources.
being as some familys do, word got around about my "apostate" thinking.

if you feel sad and depressed when leaving the faith its proof that its the truth.

i always doesnt know whether to cry or laugh when i see pictures of russel, rutherford or others in the publications. they're glorified and noone would ever dare to think that they maybe not one of 144000 or even righteous in gods eyes.
if you call in mind that they believed something completely else what JWs do today and probably wouldnt agree to todays teachings thats just crazy.
