If you know who this person is, I would print out her PMs, send them via certified letter to her COBOE with a letter informing the COBOE she needs to cease and desist immediately or you will pursue legal action AND hold them accountable as well since you are informing them and asking them to provide her with the spiritual direction and guidance she so clearly (rolls eyes) needs and it will be a failure on their part to minister to the flock if they do not do so.

GG of the I'm so sick and tired of the ridiculousness class (which shall soon overlap into the really angry at the ridiculousness class - coming soon! and extending my generation til 2914.)

Contribution of Franz books on your decision to leave?

the recent resurrected topic on franz' books got me curious.. how much did his writing contribute to your decision to leave?.

for myself, it was another brick in the wall but not more important than any other.

i was a little different than most in that i regularly read anti-witness stuff from the very beginning and never stopped.

No effect at all; 607 + the UN NGO affiliation were it for me. I did read it much later and it certainly clarified alot for me but no influence on the actual decision to leave.

just wanted to ask as i was told by an elder two weeks before i married "dont you dare have a honeymoon baby"......

Ok, I lied. The tone of your post pissed me off so much I went and found it tonight. This is from research that I did for a class on religions at college. These are all books you can get find and read; I have access to alot of material through my university's online research library.

:) That's exactly it, butterfly. So it ends up being everyone at cross purposes because we are talking about different things but using the same terminology. So, I am waiting to have A/E clarify b/c she keeps telling stories about elders/brothers (and excusing them) b/c they aren't the Organization which she says she would "never" go against. So, who or what specifically is she referring to? In her post above, she seems to imply that when she says "org" she is specifically referring to the GB, but I'm not sure.

(Sorry to be talking about you as if you aren't here, A/E, but that's what you get for going to eat dinner! ;) )

So...again....

A/E: The Governing Body is Jehovah's organization.

OM: hmmm...well - interestingly enough, the Eygptian prayer to 42 Gods is quite reflective of the Ten Commandments...I'm not sure of the timing, but how interesting that Moses, supposedly raised in Pharoah's household, came up with something so...eerily close.

Yep - agree there is always more than one side to the story... Sounds like what my ex did when I left. He even called Bethel to speak to the GB!!! Funny how he (my ex, not the OP) never mentioned the abuse, screaming profanities, gambling, porn addiction, etc etc that I had endured for years. I, too, was sheltered by an elder and his family, and I am forever grateful to them.

It's very possible the guy is a complete innocent but these are MY red flags: notice how many "I's" there - very self-concerned - no introspection into what would have driven a JW woman to leave her marriage (in and of itself a trauma, but doing it within the JWs=crazy scary), the invocation of the fact that "his prayers are being answered" - my ex could have written this SAME email - all about how this trauma was bringing him closer to God, etc, and lastly - he wants "to reclaim" his wife??? Because she is his possession? Because it is his right? Wow...talk about tenderly cherishing the wife of your youth (NOT).

*blinks at screen* Wow. Apparently THAT was a little triggering. Sorry. :) But you did say you wanted some thoughts...
