That is hilarious, AE. Be sure to tell them that you printed it off from an APOSTATE WEBSITE. How do you know it's not just a bunch of scurrilous lies and blasphemy since it didn't come directly from the pages of the Watchtower?

ARE YOU READY FOR THE FINISH LINE? GB Talk
by Girlie inand then, immediately after babylon the great is destroyed, almost without a break, look at matt 24 :29 -immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.. now in what sense will the sun be destroyed and the moon not give its light?
are you ready for that?.
and you'll fall across the finish line into the new world !

It's nice to see the WTS is lightening up...
by peacedog inwhen i was attending, an elder would never give tacit approval to a jw's participation on a website like this.
back then procedure was a harsh warning followed by disfellowshipping if the behavior were to continue.. when i was being raised a jw, no witness in good standing, let alone a pioneer, would ever consider allowing his/her children to attend a halloween or birthday party.
seems as though the days of "mental regulating of youth" are in the rear view mirror.... how great is that?

Laughing - oh we love sarcasm here! Just didn't know it since it was your first post. Glad to have you on board.
Everyone else, again, the "games" have begun - take your toys out of the sandbox and head home.

Taking a little break
by jookbeard inbit fed up tbh , the recent lies and slander levelled against me which has remained unanswered has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, plus probably spending a little bit too much time on web forums, see you all in a while.

I like that you are taking the high road. Sets a much better example than someone who makes nasty little insinuations when called out and lovebombs those who are still patient enough to take it. Cheers and see you back online soon!

What if those df'd......could they?
by angel eyes ini've recently seen that some teaching have changed.
so my question is, if someone was df'd for instance for divorcing there partner for having gay relations and this was years ago when there wasnt grounds for it, so they were df'd, if now because the understanding has changed, could they appeal and be reinstated with a public apology?.

Absolutely - never heard of pioneer who didn't keep up with current research.
My post said nothing about screaming. Leaving this particular sandbox - once the playing of games begin, I'm out.

They haven't changed on any of the things you've mentioned, PeaceDog. The credibility of those statements is in doubt. Welcome aboard!

Yep, you have a computer or access to one. Get one at your literature counter. The literature is "free". Or, ask an elder as to the current policy. I'm sure they would be happy to assist.
To answer your question, the answer is No. Regardless of whether the "current" policy has changed or not, the person would need to repent for running ahead of the "old" policy and not being obedient to the direction of the organization. It has nothing to do with whether the teaching was right or wrong. It has to do with unquestioning obedience.

Why Ask Us?
by Georgiegirl ini'm curious about a trend i've noticed - supposed active jws coming here to ask specific questions about jw policy - why don't they just go ask their elders?
why ask a group of people who are openly anti-jw?
most of us are either a: faded, b: inactive, c:disfellowshipped, d: disassociated e: never a jw f:apostate.

JWoods - I think you are right - I think we are a pretty kind-hearted group of people...it takes some of us less time to reach the end of our patience than others (grins). I too, have been impressed by the restraint shown by most when obvious inconsistencies have been posted. I am willing to help and welcome anyone but after enduring 40 years of hypocrisy, I really hate it when I see it.

Yes, IA, I agree with your full statement - "They would likely not be grilled here on WHY they are here. It is the hypocrisy that irks people."

Yes, the question was really a bit rhetorical...anyone who is truthful and honest would admit that being here and asking questions of us is directly in opposition to what the organization advises. Personally, I find it enormously hypocritical when anyone claims to be active and to be faithful to the organization and then comes HERE in direct disobedience to ask questions of "apostates". It would be so much easier to understand if a person said - Look, I'm in the organization and I really WANT it to be true but I have serious doubts and I'm scared to ask in my congregation because I'm scared of the repercussions. There have been many who have done that and they have my respect because they are being honest. It's those that claim to be completely loyal yet ask really obvious questions that I find hypocritical.
I suppose I'm asking a rational question to understand irrational action.
