Ok, I'm confused. Is this a privately held company? Is there a policy against this or not?
Be careful that you don't lose YOUR job over this.
They weren't going to do anything that close to the assembly - especially if it wasn't public knowledge. If you really want to do him in, NOW ask for two elders as witness plus him to discuss something. With two elders, they've already got enough for a JC. Of course...sending the information anonymously to his wife would probably cause far more harm and lasting damage if you really want to get nasty.
Not sure why tho?

One of the best lines ever:
Let me quote another Christmas song for you. “A child, a child, shivers in the cold, let us bring him silver and gold.” Really? Silver and gold? And not, oh, I don’t know, a blanket? An newborn infant is exhibiting signs of possible hypothermia and your response is to give him cold metal objects? Who ever wrote that song needs a smack upside the head.

Thought I'd share one of my typical e-mails I send out.
by moomanchu inbecause all the evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years.
... therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.
if you are in high school and thinking about a college education, it means at least four, perhaps even six or eight more years to graduate into a specialized career.

@Decided - yes, it's correct. They used to do a more academic journal style of pagination which meant continuous numbering throughout the year. Then they changed to the correct method where is starts on page one and ends on page X (32?). You can see it in the older bound volumes. I can't remember when they changed - in the 70's maybe?

Hey asi - that was just me, being sarcastic. The intro says he IS one of JWs, which is obviously not true. But yes, way over the top.

Let's see...he has a beard and he's yelling at the elders? And he's supposedly a JW? Yeah - who's lying now?

Child Abuse Policy question re: credible evidence
by Open mind ini'm familiar with the two witness rule and just read that it still stands in the new elder's book.. .
if a child accuses someone of sexual abuse:.
1. call the branch.

What I don't understand is this. If you are accused of anything and ask who your accusers are, the elders won't tell you. But in THESE types of cases, they can have a young child/victim face the accuser? Nice double standard in the worst possible way.

Let's see....cause the entire KH (including family) stopped speaking to me. One person only showed true kindness and love and made sure I always had someone to sit with and to speak too. Made very single f*ing meeting for a year, too. Worst year of my life. No talk, just vicious gossip. That very dear courageous friend...

Self-deception & delusion. Can U guess the source of this quote?
by Open mind in"...very often the person who is deceived or deluded tends to hold on to his belief in spite of strong evidence proving otherwise.
perhaps he gets so emotionally attached to his belief that he simply shuts his eyes and closes his ears to any evidence that might challenge it.".
an extra week of everlasting life goes to the first person who can guess the source of this quote.. .

How do I tell my elderly JW mother that...?
by onemore inmy wife asked me last night: how do i tell my mother that we have been living a lie?
then she said: she is in her 70s, all of her friends are jws, she has a routine, things to do that keeps her busy every day, field service, meetings, visiting her jw friends, assemblies, etc.
why spoil that to her?

Not sure why you would tell her?? At this stage in her life, carefully consider whether or not it would be cruel to strip away a belief system...take away her friends, her emotional security and social structure...for what, exactly? I would feel totally differently if this was a young family member, and only you know her best, but sometimes I think it is kinder and more loving to preserve the illusion at this stage in the game. Take care of her and protect her and love her but (in my opinion and who knows if it's right! :) ) - why do something that has the potential to confuse and devastate her this late in life?
Now...if she happens to be one of those rare mid 70 year olds who is out participating in triatholons and it looks like she's going to be around another 30 years - I reserve the right to change my opinion. :)
