Congrats NMG, but why not just enjoy the famiily time and not bring up anything JW? Don't spoil it with JW crap it sounds like you will have plenty of time to do that.

it's well been stated before when a pedophile has been found out molesting someone's child that friends and family can't believe how the allegedly "joe the respectable " friend , father, pastor, elder or ms , could possibly be molesting a child !

I just found out tonight that one of the teen girls I mentor has been being abused by her paternal grandfather for a couple of months. She's 13 years old, usually very outgoing and happy and lately she's been very withdrawn. I reported it to my superior and we both casually tried talking to her, we had a group session about it trying to encourage her to talk to us privately or any of the girls for that matter last week.
Tonight she pulled me aside and told me she had a secret and was scared about what would happen if she told. I reassured her that it would be ok to tell especially if someone was hurting her, that we couldn't protect her if she didn't tell. Well she let it all out so fast It almost knocked me over! We called her mom down to the center and she immediately call the police! We had barely finished talking to her and she already had her phone and was dialing.
I asked her to call me tomorrow to let me know how things are going. This little girl is gonna need lots of love, support and help. I'm glad she has a mom that not only believes her but took immediate action. That had to mean so much to her knowing that her mom believed her. That was her biggest fear that no one would believe her.
By the way the grandfather is a big shot in a local church. I hope they hang him by his balls!

When the kids were little and all home we would have dinner and torture them by making them wait to open one gift. We would laugh so hard watching them try to decide which one to open. This will be the first year that they are all out of the house, I wonder if they will come over christmas eve.

so yesterday i was watching the news and i saw something about secret santa.
there is this movement of people who hand random strangers $100 bills at places like laundry mats and thrift stores.
so i was "moved" and decided to give it a shot.

Some people can't function without constant, rigid, structure so I guess it's good for something. My parents and brothers (that are JW's) are like that. They don't know how to do anything with the guidance of their religion. It's really sad to me. But if it works for them, good.
