I love that show. I'm gonna have to think about JW similarities the next time I see it. I don't generally think too much about the JW's when I'm not on JWN so I haven't noticed it.

How are the Denim Police in your area?
by Open mind inour co will not let the no denim at bethel prohibition die.. in recent visits to nearby congos he has made it very clear that denim is not to be worn at meetings or in field circus.. if any of the "aged women" notice younger women wearing the forbidden fabric, they are to speak with them.

by dozy instudy articles have strong counsel against apostates - modern day apostates display characteristics similar to those of the devil.
their mind may be poisoned by a critical attitude towards individuals in the congregations , christian elders or the governing body.
some apostates oppose the use of the divine name , jehovah.

Ok, I have a couple of questions.
Are these mothers that miscarried just going to be reimpregnated with the miscarried embryo or fetus?
Will it be at the same gestation period as when the miscarraige happened?
If the child was stillborn, will this newborn baby just appear somewhere and the parents find it?
What if the parents are no longer together, what happens then?
Do the idiots at the WTBTS think about these things before they start making up this $&%$?

Cracks in the Veneer
by mrsjones5 inlast night i was talking to a dear cousin of mine (if i had to classify her i would say she a liberal jw who firmly believes) and she said "they told me that i wouldn't graduate high school and now i'm almost 50".
after she said that i waited for her to follow that line of thought to some conclusion of perhaps "maybe they're wrong" but it didn't happen.
i don't have any desire to start working on her to leave the borg (though i would love it if she and other members of the family would wake up) but i do find it interresting to listen to and watch the cracks in the veneer.. josie.

My one and only JW friend recently df'd and he's said the same to me many many times. "I never thought I'd see 50 and that was it". Never went any further and I'm tired of pointing things out to him that are right in front of his face.
It's really tiring to watch and listen to JW's, gives me a freak'n headache!

How Many Sit on the Fence?
by sammielee24 ini was checking out another topic and pulled off something that wobble said.. given that - how many of you would go back if the wts decided to enact shunning for everybody who was not active?
if tomorrow they decided that da'ing or fading or in simple terms, being inactive for any reason whatsoever, was a shunning offense - how many would start going back immediately just so their family wouldn't be cut off?
how many would not go back and would instead would be willing to stand firm on their belief that the wts is wrong in what they teach?

I do understand what you are saying Priest, but some will criticize for no reason at all. Just because their guy didn't win or because they don't like him for whatever reason. I think that if he was able to make everything right for America (which we know no one can do) those same folks would have something negative to say.
I agree he's only been in office 6 days and already he's the worst President ever, he's not making any changes, the economy is still bad, the dow is down, give me a freaking break already. It took former President Bush 8 years to fuck it all up least give President Obama 1 year before you start bitching!

I always called him President George Bush or President Bush in conversation, even when he was saying something stupid, which was most of the time.
And I never called him a cult leader nor his supporters cult members, even if they were stupid enough to vote him into office twice. He was still President of the United States of America.
