i was engaged to a man and was pregnant last year we lived in different states for awhile when he started studying jw without even telling me.
he lied to me about why he couldn't move with me and after 5 months he finally did then out of nowhere he went back to georgia and hid his relationship with a female jw needless to say they got married.
when i ofund out by calling around he told me it was for convience not love and that he would divorce her he was having alot of problems and didn't want to hurt me.
Ok maybe I read this wrong. But to me it looks like he's not baptized and neither was she so neither of them need the "adultry" charge to get divorced. If you are not baptized in the JW cult the rules don't apply.
#2 why would you want to be with a looser that my become a looser JW?

My kids were home this weekend (2 from college, the other just like to get sunday dinner, he lives too close) anyway, they all smelled really good, had fresh hair cuts and looked so handsome, but they ate me out of house and home! I have to go back to the grocery store to buy more juice, fruit and snacks now that they are gone. Next time I think I'll wait until they visit and leave then go grocery shoppping

My boys never had a problem with bathing especially during the teen years. The two youngest, I could count on one hand the times the fought. Now the olders was always get'n his @$$ kicked by the two younger ones. Most of the time he deserved it so I just let them work it out
Make them hug each other when you hear them fighting, boys hate to hug each other!

it occurred to me the other day that it's been forever since we've had a jw knock on our door, leave a tract or magazine, etc.
we live in a suburb of a major u.s. city.. what about you?
when is the last time the witnesses visited?
I havn't seen them in my neighborhood for about a year and a half. The last time one knocked on my door I gave them an earfull and told them if they ever came back I let my dog out on them. No problem since then.

for years i missed out on "the cosby show" and "cheers" cuz they were on meeting night.
caught em years later on reruns.
some of those cosby shows still seem new to me.
I dream of Jennie, Flying Nun, Welcome Back Kotter, Happy Days, Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, Bewitched. Missed all the Saturday morning cartoons, Little Rascals, Bugs, Road Runner.
My brother and I did sneak and watch Carrie, my dad busted us and the TV was taken away for a month

i recently met a woman here at work (a contractor) and discovered she is an ex-jw.
eventually we got around to telling why each of us left the religion.
she said the main reason for her was not doctrines, but because she was tired of the physical and emotional abuse she received.
I agree that it was more control and humilation, at least in my case. My mother needed to feel powerful and show me who was boss. Toss in a little humiliation (pre teens and teens are already self conscious (sp?) and viola.
All it did was made me more rebelous and more determined to get the hell out asap!

I didn't know it had and actual name! I though it was just called "getting your @$$ whipped". Every spanking I remember required a bare bottom.

Edited: My parents didn't count the number of hits, and it was usually with a belt, extension cord or iron cord.

all of those years of guilt she had- she's shocked that all she got was a slap on the wrist.
I remember when I was on public reproof when I was 17 for *gasp* getting pregnant. It was the best time of my life! I didn't have to go in fs, no commenting and the best was I didn't have to prepare and give talks!
My dad fixed it so that they took me off reproof about 2 months before I gave birth, but I never commented, went in fs or gave another talk. Then when I turned 18 I left.
