  Round 2 disastor

  round two with me and my parents went terrble last night.

  my mother was sobbing and my dad had the biggext look of dissapointment on his face.

  let the beatings begin.

  beatings and whippings were routine.

  so conditioned was i by corporeal punishment that one day something happened that my mom recalled with pride for many years afterwards.

  Oh yeah, I forgot the extension cord, iron cord, shoes, hair brushes, combs. My mom once thru a can of beer at my brother, he got 20 stiches in his head for that one. If it were today instead of the 70's she would have been in jail and we all would have been in foster care!!!

  Dear truth,

  I too was brought in the same time period you were and was subjected to beatings, pinching and ear pulling. I have three children and could never understand how my parents could be so cruel over the most simple things as sitting still, like a mummy for 2 hours or not falling asleep during those boring meetings.

  We also were punished for not commenting at WT studies and book studies. No comment no play, must read the bible and write a report. The older we got the more strict the punishment!!!

  How did we ever make it out???

  just a small confession .. my last post was actually written a couple months ago before i'd gotten the nerve to post.

  i copied and pasted it ... and forgot to update it.. my wedding came off in december 2006, and my mom did attend.

  Hi Core and welcome to the board,

  Not sure how you found us but welcome, take a few days, weeks, months or whatever it will take to figure this all out. You will find great people here just take some time to read, don't feel bad about long, unorganized posts, I've found it's better to just get it out when you feel the need to.

  There is a life outside of the JW organization, but it's gonna take some time to sort it all out, and unwash your brain!!!

  Take care of yourself - because if you don't you cant take care of any one else, especially your son.

  Taking a break.......

  .....not a very long one though.

  next weekend is a bit special for trev and i, and we are going off on holiday on sunday (25th) to spend 8 days relaxing on the meditterranean island of sardinia.

  So what random rules did YOUR elders impose?

  every cong has them, the petty dictators who make up arbitrary rules and insist that the rank and file follow them or pay the penalty.

  a couple mine had - sisters could not have skirts that were either too short (above the knee) or too long, below the mid-calf - either extreme was worldly.

  also, in order to have privileges (cause there were so many wonderful and fulfilling things for women in the borg) sisters must wear pantyhose.

  No talking to the opposite sex at the meetings, just say hi and keep it moving!

  Why is it everytime.....

  ..i speak to my mother about any type of current event she tells me how the end of the world is coming.

  she always says that people do not care for one another anymore and tells me that is how the end has been described as b eing.

  I hear ya on that one - I'm always saying "if it's coming bring it on or stop talking about it. The end has been coming since I could remember!!!!

  I tell my parents when they get on this subject, that people have been doing this same nonsense forever. The news, tv, radio, internet is just much better now at covering this stuff and getting it out. Rape, murder, incest, robberies, fires, earthquakes, tornado's, hurricane, floods all this stuff have been going on forever, we just have much more effecient ways of getting the new out!!!!
