Why not just leave religion alone altogether?
by dawg ini was wondering why many of you turn to to other religions after being freed from the foolishness of the jw's?
after i relieved myself of the burden of the foolish witnesses, i was able to understand god in my own fashion and i've never felt better.
many religions pratice mind control similar to the wittnesses so why not free yourselves from all of them?

I tried going to church a couple of time since leaving the borg, but I don't feel I need to attend a service in a building, associate with other religious people to be a good person. I also tried reading the bible some for awhile, but found it to be very boring so I gave up.
So organized religion is not for me.

JWs and the weird way they say Happy Birthday
by reneeisorym inyou who don't know -- i'm daed but my mother still sends me very short e-mail about every two months.. this morning she sent me an email that said:.
25 today.
it would be sooooo wrong for someone to say -- "happy birthday" .. but its fine to mention that i am 25 today.

I got a Memorial invitation today
by Flowerpetal inwell, i let my feelings about some things seep out today when an elder came by to invite me to the memorial.
of course, this elder, whom my husband and i have known for over 20 yrs, is one who i think jumps around on subjects, no matter what they are concerning, and doesn't stick or listen to the thoughts that anyone wants to express so when i tried to express mine...my reason why i am not attending the memorial, although i haven't for the past 3 yrs., he brings my dead mother into it..saying she would be pleased if i would come back to the hall or at least to memorial because his agenda was to get me to say i was coming to the memorial.
i started telling him not to put that on me but he didn't hear me because he kept on and on in his own thought patterns, stating that the society says we are in the last of the last days...so i asked, how many "lasts" are they going to put on the last days?

How long have you been out of the borg?
Why are they still bothering you?
Why do you open the door and even give them the time of day?
Why would he say your mother would be pleased if you came to the memorial if they actually believe that the dead are not aware, there is no heaven or hell, you are just sleeping when you die?? Could this be another contradiction in what they teach??
I've been out for 24 years and my parent's had the elders come to my apartment 2 times shortly after I left the borg, both times I told them to get lost, don't bother me and if I wanted to come back I knew where to find them. The second time I told them that if they ever rang my doorbell again, I slap them with a restraining order, and I haven't heard from them since.
Just like to get others opinions on how and why the handle the JWDUBS.

Upset & Need to Vent to Compassionate Ears
by FreeGirl2006 ini am so grateful to have a place where my experiences being treated like one of the walking dead can be understood and empathized with.. i was opening my mail last night and there was a bill from local hospital.
i opened it a bit confused because i have not been in a hospital in 2 years.
it was a detailed bill for my stepson.

Your Opinion Wanted-What should really be done to child molesters?
by avidbiblereader ini have not tried to hide my past as a victim of this, but this is always an area that i have to fight my personally feelings as to what should be done to child molesters.
they ruin lives, scar an individual for a lifetime!.
should they be incarcerated for life, castrated, turned over to the family member(s), public humiliation like a branding everywhere they go, tortured and or death penality?.

by nonamegiven inthere are many words or phrases jw's use daily and especially at the meetings.
we all know pioneer means something different to jw's than to others, same thing for publisher and so on.. i was wondering, what the he!!
i hear that in almost every freaking talk and i want to throw a ypa book every time i hear it.
