a year ago in my cong, an elder who must be hitler's love child, gets up and tells us how some brothers are planning a fancy dress party, a large social gathering.

sounds fun i though!

"brothers a sincere christian would not attend such a gathering, we are warning you not to go near it.

Anything that might be enjoyable is banned or seriously restricted. When I was a teen dub we had parties, I mean gatherings all the time with music, but they were so boring...... So I usually didn't go. No one liked me and I didn't really fit in anyway why bother. I guess maybe for the "true" dubbies it was a grand ole time!

.. has jehovah always had a fixed date for armageddon or do you think he takes a more pragmatic approach?

No, because there is not such being as Jehovah. He's just an imaginary being created to scare the living crap out of everyone that does not do what the fairy tale book the bible says!

What a difference a year makes.

last year on this date... i was burned out as an elder, school overseer, book study overseer, etc... my monday nights were shepherding calls, phone calls, judicial committe meetings.

tuesday nights i conducted the theocratic ministry school and usually had a service meeting part.

wednesday nights i had a bible study with a family from the territory.

I remember some of you earlier posts when you were asking for help on child custody. Sounds like things have worked out for you and the kiddies.

I'm glad that you are spending time with and enjoying your children, they grow up much too fast to miss anything. I'm also glad to hear that they are being allowed to live a normal childhood!!

i was having lunch last week with my mom and she dropped the a-word on me.

my mom started off the lunch speaking about what a disappointment i was to her that my wife and i had put our little girl into a christian private school.

i posted on an earlier thread that my wife and i now have a 6 year old beautiful little girl that we're adopting.

You stood your ground with her and I've found especially in my family relationships that when you stand up to them the get a little soft. It's when you allow them to think they are right or that your decision is wrong when they go hard core with you.

You do what you have to do as far as your little girl goes, you have to look out for her best interest!

I missed whatever it was that you posted, just wanna let you know that if you are taking care of elderly parents or in-laws you are a saint.

I wanted to drop my parents off somewhere and forget they existed, I didn't and I still took care of them but it sure was challenging!

Sorry i need to get this off my Chest

i have been unable to vent this elsewhere and because i'm taking a break from jwd my usual outlet wasn't available (this is partly the reason, i aint home till wednesday) so i decided to come back and post in this topic only, just to help me cope with this situation for both me and megan who needs me to be strong for her right now.. when megan was a child her stepfather abused her sexually, unfortunately for her she was also abused by her brother.

megan was forced into a corner by her mum (not physically) to admit that her brother abused her because her mum said that megans stepfather never abused her and it was just a ploy on megans part to get her mum to love her stepdad less.

megan felt to defend herself she needed to prove that she'd kept a few other things from her mum and that her 'perfect son' wasnt so perfect and that she wasnt a liar.

I'm glad you decided to post here, you need an outlet to get this off your chest so that you can be there emotionally and physically for Megan.

How far away from getting your own place are you guys? That may be a goal you need to pursue sooner than you ever thought.
