  An IVITATION and DEAR THANKS to All MY New Friends

  with the approaching of a new year and the passing of an old one, may i take this opportunity to express my grattitude to all of you here.

  in the short time that i have been privileged to be a member of the board i have made many new friends and have had the opportunity to learn in depth of others.. so often in life people seem to be just ships passing in the night.

  we didn't learn much from them, nor did we necessarily take the time to do so.

  I wish the nightmares would stop.

  do any of you have nightmares as a result of the jw religion.

  i haven't been to any meetings in 17 years but i have nightmares a couple times a month about the whole thing.

  in my dreams the scenario will be i am at an assembly or a meeting against my will and everyone is ignoring me and some are glaring at me and i am trying to leave but for some reason i can't get out of the building.

  I've been out for 25 years (January 4th to be exact, I remember because that's my birthday) anyway about a month ago I woke up in a cold sweat (not menopause related) couldn't catch my breath. I was dreaming that I was running around one of those ramps that they have in stadiums trying to get out but couldn't find the bottom it just kept winding around and around That was the first and only JW related dream I've had since leaving. I guess I still have some JW demonz to get rid of huh?

  I was probably looking for a bathroom without a line a mile long!

  What Is It About Children?

  that makes us like/love them so?.

  is it how good they smell or how unpretentious they are?.

  my granddaughter - age 9 - gave me a big smile and hug before i walked out of the door this am.. it felt good then and i can still feel the effects.. children are precious and so wonderful!.

  I want to somehow be able to always remember the softness of his skin, the way he smells, the sound of his gentle breathing and the size of his tiny hand in my grown up one.

  Then they grow up, they get zits on that soft skin, they stink, the gentle breathing becomes snoring and their tiny hand grows bigger than yours. And guess what, you still love them more than life itself. Would kill anyone or anything that tried to hurt them. You still cherish the moments when they lay across your bed and catch a movie with you or tell you about their day. Your heart breaks when you think their heart has been broken. And in the case of boys, they become the protector of their mother, they bring you flowers, they help you do thing that you taught them how to do!

  So what you see in them today is never lost. You will always have things to remember and will never forget the things in the past. It just makes you love them more and more, they amaze you more each day .

  When out of the blue one of my teenage sons walks up to me, gives me a huge hug and says "I love you mom" (sometimes but not always followed by "can I do or can I have.........)

  And of course brand new socks!!

  I need your help responding to my old JW friends email

  hello guys, todya i recieved an email from an old friend of mine within the jdubs... he did the usual jdub thing get married really young and as such we lost touch.. he since found me on facebook and has been bugging me about my decision to leave, i talked to him a little but his mind is completely closed and irrational so i was having little success saving him from the cult and as sich i decided to end the call.. by saying "your happy and i'm happy so lets leave it be and aggree to differ" - however he wont let it rest this is his email: any help in responding would be most appreciated!!

  ps... how ironic that he should mention george orwell when he lives within a cult that epitomizes the 1984 book!!

  seeing as you never botherered ringing me back or texting i thort id email you.. .

  you are not responsible for getting him out of the dubs, some of them are better left where they are.

  JW family doesn't see me, but got together with my ex....WTF!!!!

  just need to vent.... over the weekend, i let my 9yr old son go visit his dad and then he had to be back home to spend x-mas eve & x-mas day with me.

  so anyway...i call to talk to my son on his cell and he tells me he is at a friend's house playing with his two cousins.

  now the two cousins are my sister's kids and they live in atlanta.
