Actually, I post more on my tablet and have gotten lax about my trademark "signature" because typing on it is tedious.

Signatures on posts
by Simon incan i please ask people not to repeated signatures on their posts.. i have pm'd a few people directly with the request as i've noticed them but i guess the inevitable "explain why / show it's fair" means i need to make it publicly to all .... everyone's name and avatar is already displayed next to each post made so anything added at the bottom is really superfluous and just reduces readability on smaller devices where screen-real-estate is already at a premium.
if the layout is redesigned for mobile devices with the poster name at the bottom then it looks kind-of stupid (e.g.
"said simon - simon ...").

As a Matter of Conscience, I Am Resigning from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Sail Away inafter listening to the hearings of the australian royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, i am no longer content to have simply walked away from the organization.
as a matter of conscience, i do not want my name linked with the organization in any way.
i know this letter has been posted previously, and i thank the author.

Who are the "Inactive"?
by thereishope inthis was my starting point in this journey of rediscovery, and i've made great strides, but here i am again asking the same question.
all this talk re the rc and the shunning of the inactive ones.
there is no announcement made obviously about "shun sister so-and-so, as she is inactive.

I haven't been to a Kingdom Hell or other wt assembly since August 2007. I quit FS in Jan 07, but turned in Phantom Time until May. I live in a town with 2 congos, but since an older former elder died last May, no one from here contacts me (except when my brother died, a current elder sent me a nice letter and another jw sent me a plant/card). The congo I moved to is 20 min away in another state, I left and I never hear from them either....and I LIKE IT.
The ONLY reason I give a $hit is because my 72 year old mom is an active JW. Once she is gone, the JW can suck my b**ls. But I do what I want and they don't bother me.

It has been 6 months since my little brother took his own life. I woke up this morning and seen the walking stick he carved for me a long time ago, sitting in the corner. I shouldvgo hiking soon.
Sad, he was so talented in many ways. My JW mom found a bunch of his poetry in his possessions. She is going to copy them for me. I want to publish them if they are any good at all, or at least bind them up for his 2 kids.
Oh, I recently have been in contact with his now adult kids. Had lunch with his almost 18 yr old daughter Abigail and her mom (his ex wife). That went well. Time will tell if it was a one time meet or not. She wants to meet our family. My JW mom will be here this week, I hope she doesn't act stupid. JW mom shows so little connection emotionally to me these days.
Thanks to the son of a JWN poster (mimimimi), i also spoke with my 21 yr old nephew by phone. I have to call him back to set up a meet. Weird. I don't know WHAT to think.
To everyone who PM me or posted, THANK YOU for your kindness. I don't know if I replied or not. It has been a blur. My family is in town this week, don't know how that is going to go. I have NO emotional currency in the bank for nonsense.

Hi Sylvia...long time no see.
I read on here more than post. Posting from the tablet is cumbersome for someone who likes to write as much as I used to do here

Regional Convention
by raven inso how many are not going to the regional convention this year?
it will be my first year not attending as part of my fade.. i remember going for all of my childhood into adult hood, participating in stage parts even.. however, last assembly i was already mentally checked out.
i remember looking around and seeing all of people bobbing & nodding at the program talks that had been previously repeated time and time again.. almost seemed like hypnosis.. i also had a hard time with the fact that we're all supposed to be "friends" and everyone had always seemed to be so judgmental.. especially at conventions & assemblies.. things like who had the best outfit for the days, who looked the prettiest, who can snag the single ms brother.. who took the most spiritual food out of the program, how many times can you tally mark jehovah's name.

I haven't been since 2007. I went to my last meeting of any type right after the DC, attended the public talk and walked out before the WT. Drove to a nearby cemetery, got out of my meeting clothes, changed into jeans and a shirt and went to work... never looked back.

My wife benefited from Shriners in St. Louis 40+ years ago. I am a medical courier and picked up specimens at their old facility until recently. It was nice enough but outdated. Shriners built a new hospital in St. Louis and what little I have seen, it is beautiful. Truly a great organization and a REAL charity.

by JRK inthey are doing it again.. a new group trying to boost membership is adding people without permission.. "ex-jehovah's witnesses aka behind the veil of jw.org" added me this afternoon.
they were bragging about how quickly they grew to over 2000 members.
i quickly exited the group.

Somehow I don't remember being added as his friend or to his group, yet I was. I unjoined and unfriended, part of my attempt to unsubcribe from a lot of email, text, and fb stuff I don't read anymore. Too much e-clutter (tm).
