I have never been able to gag down Windbag Loyds' content. The guy has the gift of gab.
Not sure I would call it a gift. Booby prize maybe.

i can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.
I did not mean to hit dislike on LHGs post. I fixed it.. LOL.. Typing on a tablet.
I completely agree. If I were still in and still an elder, I would resent the pressure to appoint 20 year old "elders." Back when I was growing up (baptized 1983), you had to "progress" and be in your 30s before being an elder. Late 20s was rare and usually in a small congregation.
What the actual fxck does a 20 year old know about ANYthing?
Except that the religion is about NOTHING now. Just another Participation Trophy and a Fuc#ing Gold Spiritual Star.

some sensible advice presented in a rational way.
check out the channel.. a couple of the videos i've watched so far:.

I would hope the internet is slowing the influx of new cult members and expediting the outflow of old members.
My 78 year old JW mom is never leaving. It is all she has as a recent widow. Her ex-JW husband, my step-dad, was her only real link to the world outside JW, and now he is gone. The cult gives her reason to exist. Sad.
She lives in an isolated area in the South (US), but she still drives, even 4 hours to Atlanta to see my brother. Still mows part of her lawn with a push mower. Still active physically and mentally.
So we still talk often, I don't try to convince her, and she doesn't me.

I always appreciate you providing the files.
I don't have time in my post-JW life to read them as much as when I first walked away. But my 78 yr old mom is still a JW, so nice to know what is being fed to her. I keep an eye on her, making sure she is not giving too much to the Borg. LOL.
Gentleman Jack and Coke used to be my goto. Cheers

what is the harm or downside of being pimo?.
i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.
lots of interesting gossip 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Smiddy
I was a PIMO elder. I lurked here for awhile at first.
FS, I mostly played chauffeur to older ones on their magazine routes, even when I was a regular Pioneer. I was the no pressure elder, D2D I did the slow walk, worked by myself so other in the car group wouldn't have to.
Talks, I made them my own. As a MTS grad, I knew what I could get by with. After being removed as an elder, I changed congos, faded 8 months, and stopped going.
The mental toll of being PIMO was not healthy. I could have fought the elder removal, and it was BS, but it was a relief and made fading easier. Never was DF. LOL

i want to create a new site to help people leaving the wts.. the idea is that it will be curated content of articles and videos on specific subjects such as how to fade, how to handle family, personal experiences of leaving, mistakes to avoid, plus practical life matters impacted by the wts such as how to create or rebuild a career, planning for retirement, getting counselling, making friends etc.... the idea is that it should be lots of voices to share the love and promote lots of people's channels so it becomes a more effective resource (hopefully there will always be something informative and appealing to the people visiting).. if you have a youtube channel that you would like featured, or maybe have some specific video or series that would suit, i'd be happy to include them.. likewise, if you have a subject you'd like to write about and can share some practical knowledge and guidance on, or have a life-story you'd like to share because your experience could benefit others, please let me know.. i bought a domain and setup some placeholder content:.
https://jw.watch.
please message me or post here if you have any questions or ideas..
Simon
Excellent idea, key word is curated.
Not allowing comments will cut down on moderating time.
This site was key to me leaving as a lurking PIMO elder.
I think the exit stories should be a cornerstone.

is it possible that jw's would get so worn out by watchtower 's bullshit that they would stand up gather their stuff and walk out of a meeting or a convention.
i can see a small number doing it..
My story is elsewhere on this board in my early posts.
But the short of it was I got up after the public talk and left. I drove down the street to a cemetery, changed out of my suit into jeans, t-shirt and sneakers, and never went back.
In 15 years since, I have been to two JW weddings not held at KHs. Nothing else, never again.
Freedom is beautiful.

i searched but could not find it, i apologize if it has already been covered.

and here too- https://www.shawlocal.com/northwest-herald/news/crime-and-courts/2022/03/03/trial-for-jehovahs-witnesses-elders-underway-without-decision-from-judge-on-what-hell-consider-in-evidence/.
this was before my time, but there was this post that had 308 comments testifying that the best thing of being a jehovah witness back in the day was the convention's meals.
is this true?.
one quote out of 308;.
Our assembly hall in St. Louis, MO USA, had soft serve ice cream machines. I remember working the literature depot ( where congregations picked up their monthly shipments) one Saturday and told my fellow worker I was going to go across the parking lot to get ice cream at the main hall. Back to back SADs were happening that weekend, so there should have been ice cream.
Nope. Some over eager but ignorant brother emptied the machine and "cleaned" it. It APPEARED clean, but it was not sanitized. When the two of us working at the depot looked in the machine, it was empty...but tell tale signs of bacteria had already started growing.
The resident assembly hall overseer was gone that weekend and a comittee guy was filling in. Had no idea how to fix it. My buddy and I had both helped others disassemble and sanitize before, but never had to be in charge. Took the two of us several hours (after working the depot all day) to figure out how to take it apart, clean, sanitize, reassemble and refill with soft serve for Sunday.
If we had not had a hankering for ice cream, the crew the next day would have been different and unaware of the horror that awaited them. How many hundreds of people would have been ill if they just dumped mix in and served it? I shudder to think.
On another assembly, same location, we had some strawberries (for sundae topping) that had been left too long and were fermenting in the fridge. THOSE were delicious on ice cream and made the afternoon session more palatable.

I wish my 78 year old JW mom would leave the cult.
But what happens if she wakes up from the matrix?
Widowed. All alone in rural southern US. Which is better knowing or not at that point?
How did all you older ones leave it?
