Maybe soon... I will have something exciting to post..... until then... its more a placeholder for the snakes moniker.

i've noticed a lot of xjw blogs popping up lately.
i think that is great.
blogging could be the next big phase in combating the influence and propaganda of the watchtower society.

how do you meet other ex-jws in your town safely?
i've tried meetup.com, apostafests, but they always only have about 3 or 4 members and they happen to be far away.
I met up with a bunch at the Toronto Apostafest in Oct 07 and that was a blast...nice to put real names to real people behind screen names and avatars... hearing their stories told me I had made the right move. Those fests are the best because they are in public locations.
I am seriously thinking of putting a Meetup group together for St. Louis...there might be enough interest.... of course, in doing so, I am taking a chance on being outed from my fader status and getting an upgrade to apostate status.
What part of Georgia? My non-JW brother (raised in it, never baptized) is north of Atlanta.... I may be making a trip down that way in May...

good excuses.
pinkeye.
(highly contagious, and you aren't supposed to touch other people's dishes and glasses.)tuberculosis.
ummmmm... I don't have time for repeats...and I gave the talk a couple of years ago....I still remember it....can't get it out of my head. (true)
I tasted the crackers one year (afterward)...they taste awful...and the wine is no better. (true)
Just had gastric bypass surgery....no room for memorial emblems... (not really)
I am having exploratory surgery and the doctors say I have a 90% chance of finding a life..... but if I go to the Big M the chances drop to near zero. (no surgery...but my chances of finding a real life are increasing exponentially the longer I stay away).
If I see a certain racist elder I will drop kick his a$$. (this one is true).
I have an appointment with ...... I will think of something. (true..I may hide my car in the garage if I am home).
Radical lumpectomy of my a$$.....because the elders are still on it. (actually, no elders have called on me in official capacity recently..and none have invited me to the Memorial at all).

we have several nearly complete sets of watchtower and awake!
bound volumes, from 1960 through the early 2000s, that we need to get rid of quickly.
you can have them for the shipping cost.
Last year I cleared my shelves of all of my bound volumes and a lot of other literature. I still have a little left. I mailed via Media Mail trusting that I would be reimbursed. Everyone on JWD reimbursed my postage (and a few were very generous and gave me lunch money for my trouble, though I did not ask for it I was glad for it).
Don't trash them, someone will take them off your hands...just keep bumping this thread. If for some reason time is of the essence (moving, etc) and you have to trash em, rip the covers off (they dont recycle well) and throw the paper pages part into the recycle bin. You may have to do so over several weeks if it is curbside recycling...some refuse services/cities have weight limits if the bins have to be emptied manually.

according to this article, not all papers will be gone, and some that are gone was due to mismanagement more than the bad economy: http://www.slate.com/id/2215154/?gt1=38001.
that being said, i'm sure the wb&ts will do whatever is most profitable for them, as usual..
The WTBTS book publishing corporation will do whatever is the most profitable, ironic if it is supposed to be non-profit.
An example, a former friend of mine (most active JWs are "former" friends apparently) is still at Bethel after 20 years. He started in shipping and then Bethel trained him in electronics. For a long time he was in tape duplication. A few years back he told me there were days when they could not get the actual tape because there were only two manufacturers left and one of them was going out of business. (I don't know about the veracity of this claim, I found at least one manufacturer of tape in China). My former Bethel friend has since been moved to other areas from Brooklyn to Walkill. I have no idea if he is still there or not. He is approaching the magic age for layoff moving to where the need is great.
Not long after he told me that, WT ended cassettes and videocasettes. Now it is CDs, DVDs and MP3s. The good thing about digital media is that 90% of the cost is in producing the first copy (writing, recording, production, etc.) Each additional copy is in the relatively small cost of the media. With MP3s, that media cost is eliminated except for the cost of maintaining a server to hold the MP3 for download. Eliminated is shipping, postage, packaging, storage costs.
The bad thing about digitizing things is that the original can be changed, edited, altered. In the case of newspapers, paper copies serves as an archive of the historical record. With the Watchtower Society, it is an archive of all of the flip-flops of New Lightâ„¢ versus Old Lightâ„¢.
This development is perfect for the Watchtower Flip Flop Society. Cut costs, hide change. The Sheeple Sisters love the new convenience of downloading Kingdumb Melodies onto their iPod while working out at the local gym or studying at the local college handing out cookies at the Quick Builds

I was just thinking about her yesterday. I sent her an email but I am sure she is otherwise occupied right now.
According to her blog on her business web site (from Feb) her baby is due Monday. Hope she is doing well... I wonder if Mr. and Mrs. Flipper have talked to her recently?
Hope you and the baby are doing well Cognac...

for some reason i almost half expected to get one this year (from the elders).
my mother-in-law invited my wife which i assume inlcuded me.
the last memorial i attended was in 2006, seems like so long ago.... so how many here actucally got some "encouragement" this year?
lancelink:
I read the invite on the panera bulletin board last wednesday
panera is called st. louis bread company in this area only. I pull commercial advertisements off and hand them to management....but I would cringe if I seen a Memorial invitation.... I guess I could pull it off and if anyone asks I was getting my invite.,,, guess that would be wrong. I belong to a group that might be posting something later this month..and I wouldnt want the dubs yanking it down. Guess if management allows it nothing I can do...

this evening, i left home "just for a minute" and so didn't grab the cell phone.
of course, as i'm driving through the absolute worst neighborhood in my town (the one riddled with gangs), i had a flat tire.
i almost always have my cell phone on me.

I was just getting ready to post that...only I had always heard that called Smith's Law

i couldn't resist posting this.
but i had to wait until i stopped laughing so hard.
tatiana:
...if only all JWS had to tell the absolute truth just like Liar, Liar,
then they would be mute. So many of the dubs are completely and utterly brainwashed. They have no idea what is going on behind closed doors.
