For some reason I almost half expected to get one this year (from the Elders). My mother-in-law invited my wife which I assume inlcuded me. The last memorial I attended was in 2006, seems like so long ago...
So how many here actucally got some "encouragement" this year? We haven't had any JWs here since I DA'd and my wife was DF'd in 06. We did get a phone call sometime after our son was born last septmenber.
Are they inviting DFd and DAd individuals to the Memorial these days??
I read the invite on the panera bulletin board last wednesday.

I'm not DA or DF and my wife still actively attends and I have not been invited to the last two. Go figure.
I believe there are instructions from the society that states elders should go around and visit DF'd and DA'd people during this time. I don't have the referance.
Just found the referance. It's basically a reminder that appears every year in the KM during the "memorial season":

? The elders are reminded to follow through on instructions given on pages 21-3 of the April 15, 1991, Watchtower regarding any disfellowshipped or disassociated ones who may be inclined toward becoming reinstated.
Notice how it mentions "ones who may be inclined toward becoming reinstated". I suppose that puts us off of the list
You are probably right Drew. The info/reminder to elders is usually given out around the end of/beginning of service year. The original instructions were given in the April 15 '91 Tower.

panera is called st. louis bread company in this area only. I pull commercial advertisements off and hand them to management....but I would cringe if I seen a Memorial invitation.... I guess I could pull it off and if anyone asks I was getting my invite.,,, guess that would be wrong. I belong to a group that might be posting something later this month..and I wouldnt want the dubs yanking it down. Guess if management allows it nothing I can do...

One was placed on my door last Sunday (03/29). It's the first one I have received in a few years.
I have 2 so far this year, after 7 years of nothing. I trashed it but I did keep the first one for my library. We invited a long inactive jw to come over for dinner that night because he feels a need to be with friends who "understand" but can't stomach the KH any more.
