Wow, they are just watering it down to nothing.
Kinda like what's coming out tonight as I prep for my colonoscopy in the morning, watered down, no substance, kinda stinks, and is rather inconvenient to having any kind of life. LOL.

not sure if this is fake news or not..
That looks like the West Palm Assembly Hall...aka The Leaky Teepee. Went to an assembly there once.
She gets to have her cake (sports, wealth, non JW approved clothing and behavior) and eat it too (not be DF or shunned since not previously baptized).
Couldn't care less before, couldn't care less now.

how many of you would have spent the hours "pioneering" if it weren't for the pats on the back and being looked up to as someone special in the congregation?
i will admit that back in late 1970's i attempted to aux pioneer during a campaign because it was promoted and seemed the right thing to do,but i didn't get the hours and it was stressful trying to...and i didn't feel like a cheerful giver.
i never attempted it again.
Funny, I never auxiliary pioneered. I jumped right into regular 90 hours a month. Did several stints. Wasted time. Also single elder, MTS, RBC volunteer, Assembly Hall volunteer. Could have had a career in IT. BIGGEST regret of my life not going to an excellent vocational school and pioneering instead.
Fuck 'em.

it's been years since i posted here.
my jw mother died july 5th.
it was quite honestly not that emotional for me.
Hiya Noni.
Not sure if I posted condolences on your FB, but I get the whole mixed feelings in this situation. Hope you are OK. Protect your emotions and surround yourself with good people.
I hear about old JWs from my past that have died. While sad, it has been 15 years at least since I have been in contact with 99.97% of them. Call me callous, but I never shed a tear for any of them.
The cult is destructive, and when my nearly 79 year old JW mom dies, I will probably shed tears. I will visit her 12 hours away next month. But I told her, you ever try cutting me off, NEVER come back to me, even as an ex-JW. She understood. Snakes don't play.
Take care fellow werewolfer.

i have no idea if this is the right place to post this.
if you're just leaving the witnesses or questioning and toying with the idea of leaving..... life goes by fast.
and either you rip the band aid off and deal with it or let it fester and eat you alive.
I was having doubts around 2006, not including the Generations issue.
I was removed as an elder December 2006. Switched congregations, circuits, and states, all while not physically moving. The new congregation was only 20 minutes away. After that, stopped Book Study and FS. Then TMS.
Then our Kingdom Hall underwent renovation and scattered 5 congregations for a few months. Nobody told me anything, so I went nowhere. One random Sunday I went back and it was their first meeting back. I left after the talk...and never returned. That was August 2007. I was 40. I am now 55.
My story is elsewhere here. I have a wife now, an adopted son (now 21), a job that I work tons at. We bought our first house in 2019. Life is good. Not possible in JW land. I faded, others rip off the bandaid.

does anyone here know his where about or have any updates on him?
he hasn't been active his face book in over a year.
.
I was able to access at least part of the old freeminds.org website on the Wayback Machine.
Hope it works. It would be nice if the ex-JW community still had this easily available.
I tried to link it here, but it doesn't work, at least not on my tablet.
I did go to that site and typed www.freeminds.org and it brought up archived pages.

I have never been able to gag down Windbag Loyds' content. The guy has the gift of gab.
Not sure I would call it a gift. Booby prize maybe.

i can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.
I did not mean to hit dislike on LHGs post. I fixed it.. LOL.. Typing on a tablet.
I completely agree. If I were still in and still an elder, I would resent the pressure to appoint 20 year old "elders." Back when I was growing up (baptized 1983), you had to "progress" and be in your 30s before being an elder. Late 20s was rare and usually in a small congregation.
What the actual fxck does a 20 year old know about ANYthing?
Except that the religion is about NOTHING now. Just another Participation Trophy and a Fuc#ing Gold Spiritual Star.
