Looking Glass, that just takes me to a whole other topic which can get me started. I hate how just because someone decides to leave the organization, they also decide to leave the truth and also God. It could never be because they are doing it for the truth. The truth does not mean the same as the watchtower. I know that to JWs it's worse to know the truth and deny it than to not know it, which is how they think when thinking about people who leave the org. I just don't agree with their thinking, that's all.

Disfellowshiped/Disassociated VS. Other non JWs
by pierogi inif someone is disfellowshiped or disassociates themselves from the jws, they are to be considered "worldly", right?
if jws can talk to other non jws, why are non jws who used to be .
jws so much worse that they can't talk to them?

I sometimes wonder about this:
If someone is disfellowshiped or disassociates themselves from the JWs, they are to be considered "worldly", right? If JWs can talk to other non JWs, why are non JWs who used to be
JWs so much worse that they can't talk to them? Besides, when they disfellowship people or when people disassociate themselves, they are actually punishing the current JWs because
they are the ones that are NOT ALLOWED to talk. Also, didn't they used to announce at the meetings specifically if the person was disfellowshiped or whether they disassociated
themselves? I don't remember if that is true, is it? If it is, don't people wonder why they changed it to the same generic annoucement that they are no longer JWs? They probably don't
want others to know that people are actually choosing not to be a part of the organization. If it is true, does any one know why the announcement changed?
Anyway, I'd like to get everbody's input!

Some JW's will never see the light
by Pwned ini heard my father telling my sister that yesterday's watchtower study contained new information, ie 'new light'.
the thing is he was excited about it, said it gave him goosebumps.
how does that even make any sense?

Hi,
It's because they are so bored of hearing the same thing over and over again that anything new is exciting.

Active JW's on this forum
by winnie inhaving read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?
when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.
you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!

This is just a theory, but I think the hard core JWs (loyal to whatever the Watchtower tells them) are the ones who do most of the shunning. I think the people that come here are normal.

Blondie stated that df'ed made up part of the extra millions attending. In fact, df'ed are NOT invited - and if they come, they are allowed to stay, but they are NOT counted. So they are NOT invluded in the extra millions.
TheOldHippie,
Where does it say that people who are DFed are not to be counted? If this is true, I'm wondering how they would do this. People counting the attendance can't possibly tell every DFed
person apart from other non JWs who were invited. I'm just wondering why you said that they are not invited and not counted. Does the WTS have this in print somewhere? If this is true, I
think it is absurd. Who are they to make that decision? Anyway, I've never heard this before, has anyone else?

"Must We Always Tell The Truth?" WT Feb.1
by Cellist inif this has been brought up already, i apologize.
but, we just received the latest magazine with the title, "must we always tell the truth?".
i was curious to see how they handled this topic, with their "theocratic warfare" (aka lying) in mind.

It becomes pretty obvious with this theocratic warfare strategy the society teaches, that they don't trust in God enough to tell the truth. Maybe I just don't know the bible very well, can anyone think of when God said it was alright to lie if that person didn't deserve the truth? If the society thinks so much that they are Jehovah's organization, why wouldn't they say " Always tell the truth. Don't worry, Jehovah will protect us."?

PUNISHED by WBTS for obeying conscience.
by yesidid ini have a friend well call michael whose conscience landed him in trouble with hq.. .
he was a district overseer in the pre 75 era but his conscience would not allow him to .
endorse the unscriptural date setting.

my parents always told me that 1975 wasnt ever set in concrete by WTS and that it was people seeing things that weren't there
When it comes to 1975, the society takes no responsibility. They blame members of the flock for going ahead. Literally, if the sheep go ahead no one blames the sheep, it's the shepard's fault. It's just an example of them beating their flock.

Oh, nevermind. After rereading your post, I don't think you have a kingdom ministry.
