  rude and ill-mannered sales people, telephone solicitors, and people who use their sleeves as tissues and napkins..

  People thinking I'm younger than I actually am.

  This is just an example of what I have to deal with. First, I am 19, almost 20. I look a bit younger than that and I guess I sound younger too according to this experience:

  My dad and I were taking my younger brother to his orthodontist appointment. I called my brother's school to ask if they could send him down to the office, saving us a little time since my dad was running late. The woman on the phone was like, "Well you're going to have to get an adult to sign him out. We can't have children signing him out." or something like that. GRRRR! It makes me so mad!

  My daughter has an assembly part....

  she just told me last night that she has a part.

  it is with her dad.

  she will be talking about a music teacher "making fun" of her for not participating in singing holiday songs.

  So they make JWs sit there and listen to things that may be fake? Don't they make JWs sit at assemblies long enough? Anyway, congratulations about your daughter. Is she scared or excited about it?

  So your friend uses 2 John 9 and 10 to explain why he shoudn't have contact with you?

  9 Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. He that does remain in this teaching is the one that has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to YOU and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into YOUR homes or say a greeting to him.

  It seems like this scripture should be directed to the WT society not you. Your friend asked you if you still believe what the JWs teach and later refers to the scripture above. Since when did Christ translate to JWs?

  Our son is in jail for a crime. My fam says its my fault for leaving JW's.

  my wife and kids left jw's 7 years ago.

  all seemed well and then last week my 20 year old son committed a crime and is now in jail 1500 miles away.

  everyone that knows him says he is a good kid.

  Sorry, I kind of made my post all about you and left your son out! But yes, at least YOU be there for him. Every one makes mistakes and like you've read already, hopefully it'll be a wake up call. I agree that you shouldn't tell the JWs anything because they'll just use it against you. I understand that you were just looking for support though.

  Ya... JWs have a tendency to blame everything bad that happens on leaving the religion. Whatever, bad things happen to JWs too! Oh yeah, but that's because they are being persecuted. Lol. Unless they're saying that because you left the organization, you also left behing your morals and never continued teaching them to your children. I think that's what you were getting at in your post. You said you haven't and I wouldn't be surprised at that. There are many many non JWs with better morals and show more love than JWs. JWs aren't bothered if 99.9% of people die in armageddon. JWs shun those that don't want to be JWs anymore, including their own families. There are exceptions with everything though, not all JWs are like that because most of us were one! Just like not every non JW is great either. What I've learned is that it is not the religion that makes you a good person. There is good all around!

  Sorry that your family doesn't care. You have your wife and children, that's all you need! It is not your fault though! You can't control the actions of those who aren't you and even then it's a little hard. Lol.

  Ya I sent a letter to the society and I had to meet with the elders to hear the response. I don't think it's b/c they don't have the time to write back b/c they wrote the elders a response. They won't take our letters seriously, but they'll definitely take our money!

  does a jw upbringing simply confuse a child or is it really damaging?.

  i have no doubt that a jw child is, at least, confused with life.

  in my own case my wife brings up my 2 children (aged 5 & 2) as jw`s.

  If you and your wife live together, I think they should have a choice and not go to the meetings if they don't want to. Sometimes kids don't really want to go, but go because their parents get mad if they don't want to go. Do they ever just want to stay home with you when it's time to go to the meeting? You are their parent too so you should be able to have a say in how they're raised!

  One time, I was talking to a sister in the circuit assembly, she is okay, but that elder counseled me about it.

  Okay...how old are you? Lol. The nerve of some people. I think you can decide for you self who you want to talk to or date!

  i recently asked a jw to explain the discrepancies in the following scriptures between 1 corinthians 10:3-4 and 1 corinthians 10:9 in their new world translation:.

  first i presented the scripture as it is rendered in another modern day translation, as it is rendered in the original greek and as it is rendered in the latin vulgate:.

  1 corinthians 10:3-4 they all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink.
