On this site I guess it is probably obvious that the BORG burns everybody's ass.

The Watchtower's big chance to grow
by I quit! inare anymore people attending meetings due to the bad economic condition of the world right now?
from what i read here i don't think they are.
if they can't grow in this environment i think they will even get smaller when things get good again.

Oh there are guarantees.
Being a Dub is guaranteed to wreck your life, strain family relations with non-Dub members, leave you uneducated, working at menial jobs that provide no satisfaction, insure that you will always be just treading water financially, leave you with no retirement.....
Lots of guarantees.

The local KH that I drive by at least several times a week usually has a packed parking lot--sometimes the cars are double parked in front of one another.
I don't get it really.

Jehovahs Witnesses - Mainstreaming, Like It Or Not
by metatron init used to be that pioneers supported themselves with free literature and magazines and put in 100+ hours a month.
then 90, then 70.. a publisher had to put in at least an hour a month to be counted.
now 15 minutes.. they used to hand out a written review and collect it and grade it!

Metatron,
Your list is right on.
I don't know if I would characterize it as mainstreaming. It is more like the way you describe at the end of your post -- decaying.
What amazes me is that somehow they keep going in spite of the swath of destruction have left in their wake. And, the R&F can't see that the GB are nothing but a bunch of deluded power mongers.
Remember those long ass assemblies? Most of the Dubs today couldn't meet the standards or keep up with the work load of years ago.

I am a very bad boy every time I drive past a Kingdom Hall.
They always get the South Florida Salute from me.

For the oldtimers--how about "backcall" -- the stupid ass that agreed to let you come back and harass the shit out them
How about options in the columns on the House-to-house record slips.
NH -- not home -- by far and away the most entered
NI -- Not interested--not on the official list of options but frequently entered (I know because I was the territory servant for a long time)
CA -- call again-- why the f*ck bother-- all they did was agree to talk--other than that they were dumber than a box of rocks (most of the time)
Damn, I used to have so many slips and little pieces of paper that I couldn't keep track of them.
