How did the "Truth" set YOU free ?

the bible says that the truth will liberate you or set you free.. the watchtower applies this to their religion as if their "truth" sets people free.. if that's the case, how were you set free when you became a jw?.

Coming to know Christ and who the True God was, that Hell was the Grave, that the dead were (gasp!) REALLY dead, that there was a REAL Government worth giving your allegiance to, etc., etc. etc. etc.- and experiencing the Holy Spirit ( sorry- no such thing as 'Holy Ghost' or the Easter Bunny!) set me free from SO much, that I have a POWERFUL love of my brotherhood- altho I,too, am ashamed of the mistakes make by the so-called Faithful & Discreet Slave, am proud to be a JW, looking at my Organization as my slave...NOT my leader! Mad

I already apologized to the Mormons for laughing at their Mormon Bible.

i admit it, i made fun of the mormons along with the rest of the jws.

we always though it was really funny that they were following the instructions in "the book of the mormons" which is the 2nd verse of the new testament given to their 16 y/o prophet by god and jesus christ.

imagine that any religion could place any co-called "holy book" on the same plane as the bible!

Is it possible to have a intellegent conversation with a JW?

also, are there any active jw forums that non/ex jws go, and preach the gospel to the jws?

What do YOU think; THEY wrote the name- AND also spoke Hebrew; since we weren't there the rest is guesswork- EXCEPT that neither Christ nor his apostles & apostles babbled the Trinity- that started a century after Christ had been resurrected- and it caused bitter disputes since it contradicted what Christ & scripture revealed.
Your thought? Did Jeus give a meaningless prayer when he said "Hallowed be thy Name"??? Or did the Christians become like the Jews, who not only left the True God- but had stopped using His name altogether?

There was no Greek equivalent for Yahweh til centuries later. The Christians in the Greek translation of the 'Old Testament' had the Hebrew characters wriiten, instead of Greek- for that reason. With the coming of Trinitarians- it was easy to just use "Lord".
Jesus is God ONLY in the tradition branching off from the Catholic Doctrine!

......especially if that person hasn't read all 77 bibles?

you may or may not aware, there are currently 77 different translations of the bible widely used in the us today.

i personally use 5 of them (kjv, niv, amp, nasb, message).

Yeesh! Can't ANYONE look past the faults of the Organization- and just focus on scripture? I realize that understanding prophecy is a circus, with all imaginations in overdrive- but not the rest! The AbSOLUTE date of the fall of Babylon is 539 BC. (Absolute meaning that there is NO disagreement by historians!) The scriptures record that the Jews would be captive for 70 years (let me know if I need to look up the scriptures for you!). Adding that to the 539= 609 BC. Time is counted Remember how the decree was made that the Jews were to be released? The scriptures thell us it took 2 years for the Jews to organize & get the things they needed before they left for Jerusalem- 607 BC.
The discrepency is HISTORIANS- who GUESS at the time the Jews left based on ambiguous archaeological findings- rather than all the detail in the scriptures.
I trust the SCRIPTURAL details over their guesses...

It looks like you need more than "feedback"! The illustration of the name being unchanged (in the way it's pronounced) in different languages is totally untrue! A quick example is my name "Michael". It's - as you know- "Miguel" in Spanish!
My GUESS is that since you have such as dislike of the Watchtower Society, you are trying (maybe subconsciously) to find a reason for not honoring the True God with His name!
When you say "Jesus" - shouldn't you be saying "Yeshua" instead? (Hebrew pronounciation)
