What is the point of it? Where is the value accruing to the one worshipped?

Mad writes: When you love and respect someone, it is a good feeling to know they love and respect you. When you do something really great for someone, it's only natural to enjoy the the heartfelt thanks and gratitude from the one you helped.

Is it a monstrous ego that must be fed every nanosecond with prostrate mumblings of praise?

What possible benefit can Jehovah obtain from worship? Nobody ever takes a moment to analyze this. It is just taken as a given.

Take any human relationship where a person of awesome power and superiority is placed beside an "unworthy" subject. The person of power, wealth and prestige demands behavior which demonstrates the disparity between them and enforces these differences by demanding protocol language and ritual. The DISTANCE between them is created for the purpose of maintaining the illusion of superiority/inferiority.

Jehovah, as a parent, cannot resemble a loving father by his obsessive and compulsive protocols of praise and ritual IF he really seeks union with his children.

Talk about mind-controlled zombies- after sitting in Catholic Church endless eons- it was a real pleasure- and I learned more that 1st visit than my entire life (up to only 18) in the Catholic Fantasyland. Before going to the Kingdom Hall, it was amazing to have people answer my every question from the Bible!

Mad writes: God did- as you know! I suppose you're asking this to shock me with Jesus' referring to how he would Raise the Temple (his body). He knew he would- by being faithful to the end. You, I'm sure will ridicule that- I did- until seeing what all the rest of scripture said showing that.

God the Father didn'r resurrect God-the-Son with God-the Holy Ghost!

Jesus was resurrected by his God & Father!

PS- After praying in faith for God's Holy Spirit, try reading the Scriptures without referring to the WTBTS literature for it's "correct interpretation", you'll be surprised what you comprehend.

Mad writes: I NEVER look to the WTBS for interpretation! ONLY scripture. I DO consider their thoughts, which, in MY opinion, are USUALLY right! At this board the picture given is that the WTBS is an evil group maliciously controlling a Robot Army of Magazine Peddlers. The REALITY is that it is a group with many problems- as EVERY GROUP/ORGANIZATION/CHURCH has, that really TRIES to LISTEN and OBEY Christ...and bring honor to the One the Churches hide- the God & Father of Jesus Christ!

The biggest problem is that (once again- as in EVERY religion) there are Pretenders messing things up- as Jesus pointed out- wheat overgrown with weeds! So every time I go to the Kingdom Hall, I listen to scripture, and lop off opinion and speculation of my WTBS, considering them- but not accepting as true- unless the scriptures show it such. The speculation floats in a holding tank, while I wait & see...

My mom wants me to go to memorial

ever since i can remember i have attended the memorial only for my mothers sake though.

i am not a jw nor do i have any desire to ever become one but i know it means alot to my mom.

although now i have been enlightened on many things about her religion that i do not want any part of and i do not want to go.

What harm is there in going- and just listening to the scriptures? Ignore all else- but at least do THAT!

Unless you do not believe in the Bible, anyways!
