  My wife has finally seen the light.

  for 18 months i have been at loggerheads with my wife over the wts.

  she has been the perfect watchtower slave even declaring that she'll never leave the truth.

  i decided not to interfere in her life, attacking the society, and the idiots in the hall, but recently things have changed for the best.

  my cousin has left the borg, all on his own and he sounds like a recording of me!

  i'm no longer alone after 17 years; now i have someone to talk to and his experiences are alot like mine.

  to think, he refused to talk to me for over 17 years!

  so, i go to my jw uncle's funeral for obvious reasons!

  after the funeral my family invites me to dinner, something we haven't done for some time (probably 8 years or so) as i'm considered disassociated not disfellowshipped.

  i guess this is allowed per the new jw policy but since that crap changes from time to time i'm not sure.

  Thanks for your imput, but no way you're right... I've been mentally abused for 17 years and for what? SO my family can defend a group of men that have built mansons for returing prophets and a plethora of other absolutly insane things? What a crock of utter bull! I expect people to have more brains than to fall for this foolishness and even if they did believe in this stupity then they still dont't have a right to treat me fouly for 17 years.. What" Are you kidding me... so I should take their crap for 17 years and not grow so damn tired of it that I want to sever the abuse? Maybe your situation is different than mine, if that's the case, good for you... but I'm fan to the teeth that you'd defend the those who've willingly defended these idiots while treating many in their own family like they have a diease. Please!

  Mad, you need to do more research on the nicene creed of 325 and other nicene conferences. They are very important to anyone searching for the truth about the bible. You will find that you won't be able to take the Bible so seriously once you take the time to research it's orgins.

  speaking to a New Testament class, suggestions wanted

  i work in the information department of a small private college.

  the professor of religious studies has asked me to come to his survey of the new testament class and talk about jehovah's witnesses -- what they believe, what it was like growing up in the movement, ect., whatever.. so what do you think i should share?

  You must (in my opinion) tell the complete unadutrated truth about everything that you know complete with Beth Sarim and the false predictions. Including the good things about the witnesses like current race relations and the like will make you not come off as smug and angry...even thought you may well be! Good luck my friend!

  I can't believe anyone thinks the gospels were written by the aposles; look at the discrepancies in each account especially the resurection story. Not to mention the nicene conference "voted" to leave several accounts out of the NT. Come on guys, to leave the JWs and join another cult-seems like someone might need a little therapy here.

  A former "Bethelite" JW's friend of mine wants to "Disassociate".

  a friend of mine that was at bethel when the "change" came out about the "generation of 1914" in 1995 wants to "disassociate" himself but is terrified that his family especially his mother(who is of the annoited) will totally shun him.

  his whole family are jw's his uncle an elder, his sisters pioneers, etc; any advice i could give him?

  i know what it is like since my mom has been a devout jw's since 1967.

  On those of you that urge a fade.. I can understand where you come from but man show some courage... how many more will be hurt by this religion if we don't stand up and attack their foolishness openly and honestly not just on some web site where folks don't know who we all are. My goodness fellas, the JWs ARE wrong after all and they've destroyed thousands of families. Let's all resolve to stand up to the evil that is and then we may see those fence sitter join us; the journy of a thousand miles starts witht the first step.

  perhaps you have been reading this board for awhile, and you may believe some of the things we have been saying, however you are still gripped in fear of armageddon.. .

  the wt society has been predicting armageddon for well over 100 years, and when the prophecies fail, they blame you and say "we never said that".
