Does anybody own or want a scooter?
by moshe ini used to have a little honda 50cc spree scooter.
it was fun to ride to the store and just putt around the country- it was just too slow.
lately with gas creeping up i have decided maybe i should get another scooter as i just can't justify spending so much on gas to meet my friends for a drink and a hamburger.

No, your not to old for a scooter but have you thought of going electric? In Canada ther are stupid laws on electric scooters, they can't go faster then 30kh, I don't how that is in miles but it's not very fast.

EVERY EFFECT HAS A CAUSE. Now deal with it.
I'm still waiting for you to tell me if god has a cause and like lore said someting as complexe as god more complexe then the univers how could it just appear out of thin air?
.Why do humans have a conscience when animals clearly do not?
Sorry but you might whant to make sure of that one because some animals have a certain level of consciousness.
If you disagree with my logic trying to prove life is complex, is complicated and is a product of intelligent design, then for once, please counter that argument SPECIFICALLY.
Life is complex but that does not mean it's from a designer. Life did not start out so complex it took many years to form.
If a supreme Creator is NOT responsible for all of the amazing, complex intricate and purposeful systems and features surrounding us today, then HOW DID THESE SYSTEMS AND FEATURES GET HERE?
Again the same could be said about god so not one or the other is more logical. It might be more logical to you. I agree with Gill
Everything, and I mean absolutely everything, should be questioned, otherwise you get NO answers!
If we would just say " we can't explain it so it must be god" then we would not get any answers. Something else, there is no proof that the univers has a beegining. It could just be and if that's it so," then there is no need for a god." Steven Hawkins.

Who really was The Great Lawgiver!!
by Gill infollowing up from a thread i was reading yesterday, there seemed to be a beilef that the bible was the source of much of the laws and principles followed and enforced around the world nowadays.. however, 500 years before moses supposedly climbed the mountain and came down with the stone tablets, hammurabi, the babylonian king and also know as the 'great lawgiver' climbed a 'high place' and came down with a copper scroll and laws from god which still serve a basis of law all over the world.
it was hammurabi who introduced fines for law breaking, instead of the usual barbaric life taking!.
hammurabi elevated women, who although still not at 'full rights' of men, were allowed to divorce and treated fairly in the law.. so, the laws of the world are not based on the bible, instead the israelites attempted to follow the humane example of hammurabi who really was the great lawgiver!

Why do Christians gets so overly defensive over basic historical facts?
Because, the facts are from secular sources and we all know that you can't trust "Satan's worldly historian", it's a conpiracy against Christians. The bible is the truth so stop trying to confuse them with historical fact.

I'm not sure but I think Gill was just pointing out that Hammurabi's law could have influenced the mosaic law because it was before Moses and the two stories are similar.

Why are people so afraid to question the authenticity of the Bible...
by zeroday infor thousands of years people have taken the bible as the word of god.
what would you do if you found out that it was not.
how would your outlook on the world change.. .

I agree with Sammielee24. My outlook on life has change a lot. I think that to prove with out a doubt that god exist, you would have to know every law of the univers and if you would know every thing in the univers you would be god or godlike. I don't think that you could use science to prove god because science is the study of nature and god is outside of nature. So I think the only way to prove god is for him to reveal himself or herself.

Convince me
by Liza ini am highly considering becoming a jehovah's witness.
i have been raised in the congregration, but left it when i was a child because my mom left too, but we still retatined the core belifs including the ressurection and the blasphemous pagan influence on mainstream churches.
my mom has recently returned to the congregation, and it has helped her a lot.

I'm not sure about god but I don't see how beleiving in him gives meaning to life. When I was an active JW they gave me a certain meaning but when I really thought about it the only goal in life, if we were supposed to live forever in paradise, is to enjoy life and worship god. Now take god out of the picture all you have left is, enjoy life. So wether we live for ever or not we still can enjoy life so I don't see anything wrong with that.So when we die, if that is it, why is that something to fear? Death is the end of fear. I'm still trying to understand how does the existence of a god gives any meaning to life. It is man that gives himself meaning by creating a system of beleif.
