It's circulary reasoning, but apparently it works. Why do you think so many jws stay in even when they see scandals within the organization or hear from friends and relatives who have see the truth about the "truth"?
Yes but we are living proof that some will leave. Every body has different limits to what they will find acceptable. Every little bit counts. If by pointing out circular reasoning helps some then good, if not well at lease I tried.

and thus becoming god myself but I think there is a way and that is if he does actually do what he promises which is ....(depending on what you believe)....take us to heaven! or provide us with everlasting life on earth! those would be fairly impossible to argue with happenings but unfortunately we are living in the catch22 situation of being told that to access these "Rewards" we have to believe first :s

So if God did provide irrefutable evidence, something in the style of a miraculous event that the whole world would have to sit up and acknowledge does he then have the right to ask obedience and worship of us? If for the sake of argument we assume the bible is completely accurate would we still rebel because we want to walk our own roads without being restricted by rules from a supreme being?

I love these kinds of questions. Well in my opinion it might be impossible to "prove" that something is god. A miracle is not enough proof, it's just an event we can not understand or explain. If a being uses great powers to prove something all it proved is that this being has more power then you or me. For example, if a demon or an alien or whatever would appear in front of you and performed an unbelievable act, how would you know if this is god or a not? If god does exist, how can he prove himself? To have proof he would have to prove to you that he created the universe but to know if he is not BSing you, you would have to know everything in and about the universe so god would have to turn you into his equal to prove it to you. You would have to know everything he knows.

I'm not saying that this is an absolute reason to question what someone is saying but I think it is a good indicator. The WTS keep saying that the evil apostates are out to get you. Why? What do these evil apostates have to gain from you believing them or not? Is it not the other way around? The WTS has a lot more to loose if you start to doubt what they teach. They have much more reasons to mislead people then "apostates" have, Just something to think about.

I think there is a difference between serving Jehovah and the WTS.
For me it's about the same, man made gods used to gain power over other people, but I do get what you are saying.
sat in on my wife's bible study tonight, next week the husband of her study sister is coming with her, he is actually the presiding overseer of the congregation.
tried to get me to talk about trinity next week, but the topics will be either generation or michael.. .
the sister pointed to the statement in matthew on generation, i believe it was matthew 24:14 and said that since jesus was talking to his disciples, that equates to the anointed.
After that, they'll probably try switching gears to another topic. DON'T LET THEM. This is a typical tactic of the Witnesses (I'm sure we all did it at one time or another). They switch from one topic to another so that you go round and round and nothing ever gets settled. Make them stay on topic.
This is an important point. keep it simple. An other way you can piss them off is ask for proof when they clearly speculate on something.

Yea, that's the problem what they teach does not make sense, you should tell them that evolution makes a lot of sense, why don't they accept that?

You have a point but i actually ment it as a genuine question, you say "why serve a God like jehovah?" then you cite biblical examples of him which left me wondering if you were questioning the Bible-Gods ethics as apposed to the Jw doctrines based on the bible?
Sorry I am guilty of assuming your motive. I cite biblical examples of how he treats humans because like I mention it is important to question extraordinary claims. If you or anybody else approves of the conduct of this god I find it hard to understand how you can call this love. It sounds more like love of oneself (god loving his reputation more then humans). JW and other religion claim that the bible is the inspired word of god, this notion must be question and put to the test. I question anything that claims power over humans. If a powerful being would present itself to me as being god I would question and ask for very strong proof of this.

For me i find it's very much like the "tickle your ears" scrioture as apposed to a sinking ship, theres a lot of ad hominem arguments directed at the people and organisation that make it frustrating at times but as all forums are opinioned based it's only to be expected.
I know you said this on an other tread but I find it ironic that you say this and then you actually us a logical fallacy to discredit my argument. I ask questions and you us a negative term ( attack ) instead of answering the questions. You avoid the questions and you change the meaning of what I was doing. Why do you consider questioning something as an attack?
