  A JW's view of a rape victim

  the following is an ongoing discussion about wt disfellowship policy.

  a poster called wolvo has post a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zs86dfzbg8 which has been brought into the discussion of a 17 year old rape victim who was later disfellowshipped for not screaming during the rape.. due to the fact the disfellowshipped girl admitted to petting, a jw on the forum by the name of tbax had this to say with regards to her being raped.. .

  The guy who made that comment is just an other example how believing in this kind of shit can warp your sense of empathy.

  From my own personal experiance....although I did not know the person who raped me, as she did. I was about the same age, 15.

  I did not scream, I did not consent, I feared for my life, and I lived through it.

  That's terrible purps. A girl I knew was rape by a family "friend" for about 2 years. She was 15 at the time. When she told her parents they believed her but the elders told her not to go to the authorities. She did any ways and got disfellowshipped for it. I hate this f*&%ing religion.

  I am scared for my life. Problems with punks.

  so i have been having problems with the renters that moved in next door.

  the last 3 months have been a living hell.

  i have an ongoing complaint with the slumlord that owns the property and the city is taking him to court for derelict vehicles next week (which i anonymously complained about, but i am sure i am being blamed for).

  For a living I am a bill collector. I used to be a skip tracer. I think maybe it is time to put those skill sets to use. I may not be able to hurt these people physically, but I wonder how much trouble I can cause them?

  That sounds like a good idea. If I can give you some advice. Restraining order sounds good and a weapon. I also suggest you get some training in martial arts. Bjj (brazilian jiu-jitsu) is good and some form of military combat is very affective. You might never use it on him (hopefully) but it is always good to know how to defend yourself. I am 5'9 and 137p but I can kill someone with my bare hands. I do Bjj, Shotokan karate and have a little bit of military hand to hand combat knowledge. It helps a lot with self confidence. Bullies suck.

  The thing with Lot's daughters always bother me too. One thing I always struggled with when I was in is the dress code and the constant judging of ones appearances. I would ask how come they would put so much importance on this when Jesus never even once mention it, actually the only time he mention appearances was how we humans judge each other on it and that we should not. Anny way now I know why the JW insist on it, mind control.

  2 firemen risk their lifes, entered to the flaming house and resqued little joseph.

  I know a lot around me would leave fast. Others would leave after a while. In % I would say about 15% at first and then later on 60-70%. Just think of all the people on this board.

  Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?

  i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.

  there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

  I also do not believe in the bible. Like LouBelle said there is to many things wrong with it to be the word of god, I will not go into the details but you can get all the information you need from the Internet and other sources.

  It is not easy to accept that maybe you have it wrong, it took me a while to accept the information I discovered. The power the WT has on people is strong but if you get the right information and help you can release yourself from their mental prison.

  I find that I am a better person since I "lost my faith" and I am a lot happier. I do not fear life as much any more. I just celebrated my 11 wedding anniversary this weekend and I don't have the urge to sleep around just because I don't believe in the bible. I don't do drugs or anything else that is self destructive. I hope that one day superstitions like religion will just die out because I believe humanity needs to let go of this to evolve.

  had a witness relative visit me yesterday and we got into a discussion about noahs flood.

  i of course did my best to explain to her how it didn't happen and many of the reasons why.

  one reason i gave was the perverbial lack of sufficiant water to cover the earth.

  That was a very good way to start her doubting, use the bible itself. One major flaw in the water canopy is that it would have increased the atmospheric pressure dramatically to the point that life on earth as we know it would be impossible and if it was "super heated steam" well of course that would increase the earth temperature dramatically.

  the best questions will be used in a video series on watchtower comments.

  the goal is to help people respond to jws.. the question must be direct and designed to open the jw mind, not necessarily to win an argument.. i would prefer to avoid doctrinal debate such as trinity, cross, even thiest/athiest subjects.

  I posted this a year ago and did not get much response but I think it's a good series of questions.

  Me: Do you believe that the FDS and GB are infallible and incorruptible?

  JW: No

  Me: Then why do you follow them?

  JW: Because they are God's organisation

  Me: How do you know this?

  JW: They follow God's direction in the bible.

  Me: How do you know what is God's direction?

  JW: By studying the bible

  Me: How do you study the bible?

  JW: With the WT literature.

  Me: How do you know what your are studying is an accurate description of God's direction?

  The response of the JW are predictable but sometimes you can get a different answer, you can always improvise, I think something on the same line can work. The important thing I think is to get them thinking.

  Real Truth=Antichrist

  kind of confused about this....but according to info that wt puts out about "apostates", doesn't that make those who know the real truth, the "truth about the truth" the anti-christ?.

  now, i know some are athiests, some are still on a search, some have gone over to other religions,and some just believe in jesus without following any doctrines of a religious group.

  what i am asking is, will all churches as well as wt consider anyone who does not belong to a religious institution as being "the antichrist"?

  Yes according to the WT anyone who does not accept their teachings are the Antichrist. Their logic is that they have the real teachings of Christ so if you reject them you reject Christ. It's the us against them cult mentality. For others the Antichrist are people who reject Christ. It can be a group of people or just one individual. Some believe that it's Oprah....It's all just nonsense. There was no Christ so there is no Antichrist, well except for me of course.

  It pisses me off to see any kind of statement supporting the presupposition that being a JW is the only thing that keeps someone from engaging in this kind of behavior. Yeah, I'm probably making too much of this. But I think it's a dumb comment.

  What's wrong with smoking weed and "fornicating"? Not that I do, but if someone does and is okay and happy with him/herself why not?
