A big one for me was when they came out with the whole blood fraction thing.
I remember getting into a huge heated discussion with some witness friends of mine, when I pointed out that
How can we not donate blood but accept it, even in parts?
We hate the world and worldly people, but we gladly benefit, but won't contribute?

All the "anointed" that I knew of were White.
Alarm bells were going off in every direction, but I gave no heed to them until much later.

C'mon. There must be some non white "anointed".

Samuel Herd, token man on the GB.
Right on!
The Gentile times, 607 BCE 2,280 years or whatever, the golden head and speckled clay/iron feet, yeah, basically the stuff Daniel wrote when he must have been TRIPPING BALLS.
Samuel Herd, token man on the GB.
FA, you beat me to it!
They selected the Token Negro, Samuel Herd, as a last ditch-effort to be politically correct. Who did they think they were fooling?

A few million true believers?
Looking back on it now, it's pretty obvious that it was a ploy to look more diversified, especially since more and more minorities were becoming JWs after decades and decades of it being a primarily "white" religion.
And on an even wider scale, why are all the GB of the Western world? Where are the Asian and Middle Eastern GB members? The "Holy Land", where it all supposedly orignated to begin with isn't even represented. You'd think there'd be somebody from the original landscape would be part of God's official mouthpiece...
In 5th grade in front of the entire science class I objected to the idea that the earth and universe were millions of years old. The teacher asked me to explain my beliefs and I quoted what my mom had taught me through the JW's that everything was created in 6 days or 6000 years. Carbon dating was way off etc. He gave me 2 days to show proof in front of the class from the bible.
When I got home, I was so proud to tell my mom how I had stood up for the "truth" and said I needed proof for the class,... so could she help me write the report? She denied ever telling me that or that was how the JW's believed. I started crying with panic.
The next day I faced the class and said I was wrong. It was one the most humiliating experiences of my life. I never opened my mouth again on that subject.
Just one of the benefits of being raised a JW.
I am still confused......did they not teach and believe that at one point?
