So there is something good about the JWs as Muddy Waters points out in his comment ,"They know how to arrange and stack chairs"

by stuckinarut2 inok, so in the interests of balance....(as it has rightly been pointed out that i am getting more bitter toward the org), can we think of any positive or nice things about jehovah's witnesses?.

GUstv mentioned rebuking the faith, there's an article on HuffPo about Coco Rocha, she's a model and a JW, I've made a few comments over there saying that if some of the sister in any Cong posed in some of the outfits she has and some nosy elder's wife finds about it, how long before you're hauled into the backroom for a "a little chat"?

I wonder if her goes door to door with that gigantic afro?
But then I wonder if he still goes door to door?
Or, does he even attend the meetings?
Or does he just send a check a now and then?

A couple in the Cong I used to attend trained their two kids at home to sit for a half hour or so being quiet so they wouldn't act up during the meetings, isn't that just fantastic! Well, the Elders must've thought so because it was even pointed out at one of the meetings how they were training their kids. Something tells me they were not the only Dubs doing this.

I am JW.ORG
by LogCon infamous quote from wuthering heights revised.. '... i am jw.org!
it's always, always in my mind: not as a pleasure, any more than i am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being.
so don't talk of our separation again: it is impracticable...'.

I see a guy with a button on his jacket a few times.
I guess there will be an experience coming up very soon at the asssemblies of how someone curiously asked what does that JW org pin lapel mean and "lo and behold" a study was started and that person is not a faithful servant of the real estate, publishing company and trinket selling Organization.

Congrats WA7 for kicking the Borg to the curb !!
But don't be surprised if you're asked questions at the wedding since you mentioned that some know your family has become inactive. You know how they are, "gotta get that time in" mentality. They'll just have to asked "how you're doing in da troof now". Just say you and the family are doing exceptionally well and just enjoy the wedding, after all it's a wedding not a return visit.

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

Well, even if it is true, I'm sure it's safe to say it didn't happen in the U.S.
Unless it happened in some off the grid small southern town or something

Do you remember the 15 minute break at the Sun. meeting?
by 3rdgen ina poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min.
break between the talk and the wt study on sundays.
the break was supposed to be to allow jw's time to drive their bible studys home from the talk.

All the meetings on one day? That's pure torture, never heard of that before.
I thought the fifteen minute break was for us kids to go load up on candy before the watchtowel started. Never knew it was to drive home studies, but then, wouldn't you want them to stay for the whole meeting?
