There wouldn't be too many elders left if they started to DF for too much drinking, there wouldn't be too much of any of the Dubs if they started DFing for drinking, that's how some of them get through the meetings and the rest of them are not drugs, legal and illegal.

just curious on what big differences there are between the two compounds?

i've seen that warwick is the world headquarters now so what is wallkill called?.

have cousins that just moved from walkill to warwick, apparently they have a deluxe apartment now.

after reading funchback's post about "having a cart attack" it reminded of some pictures i saw this weekend on a friends fb page, his mother is still in da troof.

her pictures are from africa and europe and she's posted many pics of the brothers riding a bike with the whole cart display on their backs !!

i guess the dubs here in the u.s. don't know how easy they have it!.

Kinda reminds me of when they used to tell us of how easy we had it here to attend the meetings when some brothers and sisters had to cross thru alligator infested waters and walk miles just to attend the meetings. I guess they could now point out how in the other countries they ride bikes with the full cart on their backs filled with all the literature.

For those here who are in Europe and Africa, are you among those who are breaking their backs for Jehovah, in the literal sense?

If only A&E would do the same thing with the JWs.

Why is it that the other cults get so much more air time than the JWs and they don't even go knocking door to door to spread their message, oh well, maybe after this airs maybe they'll get lots of letters from JWs saying how similar Scientology is to the Dubs.

I wonder how many faithful servants of Jah met with the group this morning to bring good news to all the bad, worldly folks celebrating the holiday.

Then they go home and prepare that big bird they bought because it was such a good price this time a year, of course you can't have a turkey without stuffing and everything else that goes with a holiday meal, the only difference is instead of going around the table asking what you're thankful for today, some long winded phony JW will give a prayer to Jehovah thanking for their huge meal today, but in no way are they celebrating along with Christendom. , , yeah right

Turkeys ... to brine or not to brine (recipe)

being that time of the year when you can buy turkeys so cheap (most jw's i know but at least a couple) or in some cases food stores give one away with a purchase exceeding some dollar amount, i was just interested in any interesting recipes.. we usually do the brine thing (3/4 cup salt to 1 gallon of water, a few packets of chicken bouillon, some random additional spices, dry or fresh as desired).

cover the turkey completely and then let it soak overnight ( we usually do about an hour a pound).

not a real precise recipe but it does, in our opinion, make for a much more juicy bird without the typical dryness that often happens.. depending on the size of your refrigerator, it may take some gymnastics to get a big pot with a turkey in it.

I just read this week about dry brine, which includes baking soda which makes the skin more crispy and holds moisture within, I said I'll pass on that. Some people in the comments section of the article say it works, but I just have a feeling if I did it I wouldn't get the right results.
