Remember a tract called Hope For The Dead? My mom always jumped into action with that one when someone died. Twelve firemen died here in NYC in the 60s and she sent their wives ones with a brief letter, she got a few responses too. Just thanking her and so forth, none I'm sure decided to join the Dubs after reading a flimsy tract

I've seen a few pics from District Assemblies this year and the stadiums are more than 50 per cent empty, with that being said, can they even find new people that have recently come into da troof?

I'm sitting here staring at the TV and right below it I have the box set of "The Saint" from first episode to last episode, he was also the best Bond in my opinion although I know folks would choose Connery, I disagree

Have Jehovah's Witnesses Become Boring?
by David_Jay inokay, that new video about 1975 has got people talking, and yes, the child abuse cases will always require us to remain vigilant...but after my having left in the late 1980s/early 1990s, it seems all the real "exciting" stuff is gone.
when i left the witnesses were still preaching that the "generation that was old enough to understand the events of 1914" will not pass away before armageddon comes.
no blood cards were our badges (not that stupid jw logo) and that card meant what it said, "no blood"!

They've always been boring.
Just the mere fact of attending the meetings every week and the same drivels rolls around every few months or so and you've been a Dub for 20 plus years or so? How do they do it?

"would you drink a glass of water if it had just a tiny bit of poison in it?"
by stuckinarut2 inno doubt we have all heard that well used "illustration" in public talks etc over the years:.
"if you were handed a glass of water that looked pure, but were told it has just a tiny drop of poison in it, would you drink it?".
the society has used that illustration at length to say we should avoid all influences of every part of the world.. but, as we know, the society has had a track record of errors, false ideas and doctrines.

The Dubs think they're so clever with their sayings, well regarding this one the little bit of poison in the water is when they love bomb you when you start studying, once they got you and you're baptized then the "whole water system is poisoned" going along with their stupid, cutesie poopsie analogies.

going back to the early 1980's we had a young brother in his early 20's curse out the elders at his meeting, but then he committed suicide. His mom was a friend of my mom and she just brushed it off like "well, if he didn't want to serve Jah then I guess he's better off" . . SMH,
I wonder if she put on that brave face at just at the KH, or did she go home and shed tears for her firstborn, being that she was nurse and they're all about saving lives and helping people live.

Why is the white race so different?
by Crazyguy inwhat i'm saying is the white race is the only one that has a verity of eye and hair colors , so what gives?
is it that this race was influenced genetically by a group of pre humans that didn't mix with other races?

this topic still going strong? . . . I predict 20 pages like all the other topics on race usually last that long. Hmm, wonder why race stirs everyone up?
Remember the good ol' days whenwe were attending the meetings and we all know JWs don't see color, they accept everybody as their brother and sister because one day we would all be in Paradise singing kingdom songs and playing with a baby lion?
Hmm, I guess everybody played along at the KH and then went home and carried on with their own beliefs about race and politics, etc. what a fine bunch of actors the JWs are !!

two folks above say to visit Hoover Dam, ONLY if the temp is in normal range while you're there, when we visited it was the month of August and the temp was 107, "but there's no humidity"! as they say, doesn't matter when it's that's high, have to say if I was the age I'm at now I wouldn't have even gone on that trip, I would've been carried out on a stretcher, or they could've just blotted me up with some tissues, I would have melted from the heat
