  What does shunning acomplish?

  well in order to shun someone you must dehumanize them much like what occurred in slavery.

  dehumanizing someone now allows you treat them worst then an animal.

  and now you can justify ignoring them there not human anymore.

  I remember an interview he did with Howard Stern more than ten years ago when he said that while he was on SNL he was still attending and knocking on doors and people would recognize him. He's conflicted, like a lot of two faced dubs I know, they think it's still da troof and will attend here and there, but they're still living their lives as they want, doing things that would get them DFd, but they just don't feel guilty. Same ol' story most of the Dubs are living, but his checks to the Borg are just a bit larger than the regular check a hardworking brother contributes.

  "life in south central los angeles in the 90's, "there were gang violence, crack heads, drive by shooting and jw's".

  how interesting she associated all the bad things in south central and jw's.....door to door work in south central can be a little dangerous, my hat off to those folks.

  She used to attend as a kid. Look on YouTube for her first interview on The Breakfast Club, with Charlemagne, another person who was raised as a JW. She's had a hard life, foster homes, mother turned bi-polar after car accident which is why she was in and out of foster homes.

  i heard a sly and the family stone song a little while ago and out of curiosity, looked up larry graham....the innovator of the slappin and plunkin bass.

  he became a jw about 1975 and was the influence for prince becoming a jw.

  on his official web page is the list of his tour dates this year.

  the difference between Bro Graham wearing a suit like that at all, and a regular Bro. wearing a suit like that is the difference, the difference between the check Graham writes to the Borg and the check the average Bro. sends in when he's able

  Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage

  my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).

  he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.

  but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

  An elder with only one testicle

  i happen to be one of very few people who know of this condition that the man has.

  he had an accident several years ago with some power equipment.

  leviticus 21:20 commands that no man present the bread at the temple with damaged testicles... so?.

  Is it ethical to have children?

  this was a news article recently in an australian newspaper that caught my eye.. the premise was that to have a child is to inflict an extra human being onto the world and also, to inflict the world (with all its problems) onto the child.. there is a lot to say about this but from jw point of view, i have always believed it to be incredibly hypocritical that jw's have children in 'this system'.

  all my life at the meeting i heard how little time we have left, how sick the world is, how i was probably going to be persecuted and end up in a jail cell for being a jw.

  why would anyone want to become parents in this situation, particularly if they are confident there is only 'a short time left'?.

  I think they always had some kind of thing about waiting until the new system to have kids. I remember a family who's two kids are 10-15 years older than I am and I remember the dad saying when he and his wife got married which was probably in the late 30's or so that they were saying that couples should wait to have kids and they actually waited for some time until some "new light" from a drunken Knorr or whoever was the Top Dog then said you could have kids. Such a f***ked up organization telling folks when to have kids, then they keep flip flopping back and forth

  Wives With Unbelieving Mates

  i knew many witness wives with unbelieving mates who pretty much led a double life.

  “my husband says i have to go the workplace christmas party.” or my mate tells me i have to make a thanksgiving dinnner.

  or “ my mate insists i do things in the bedroom that i know the watchtower has talked against.

  Back when I grew up my dad was an UBM, back then the Borg used to say if your husband expected a holiday meal then fix it for him. I remember as a kid around the holidays we used to either go to someone's home or my mother used to cook.

  Eulogies

  i recently attended a non jw funeral at a local church.

  during the service, a couple of friends/relatives of the deceased eloquently spoke for a few minutes about the deceased with some of their fond memories and gave heartfelt, respectful tributes.. would i ( a non jw) be given a few minutes to speak at either of my jw parents funerals at the kingdom hall ?.

  i guess i already know the answer, but if the answer is "no", then why not and how would they hide the heartlessness of refusing ?
