Hey Sweeney, this is the title of his post that was shut down by Scully last week
Lawrence Hughes needs 500 dollars by the end of next week
so he solicited for funds on behalf of Hughes
just curious.
in my opinion it is the most importantr thing ex jws should be supporting right now.
the case is at a crucial point.

One thread about the case was shut down, the other one that was posted directly by Lawrence, was totally deleted off the board!
Both of them were soliciting for funds.
last month i got word that a witness i had known had died suddenly.
i hadn't spoken to her since my disfellowshipping six years ago, but we had been good friends.
upon learning of her death, i wrote a letter of sympathy to her fleshly brother, also a witness, who had been a good friend of mine as well.
When my mother died, the folks from the Hall that knew since I was 4yrs old, only 3 of them came to visit me when she died, however my aunt who was never a JW obviously told some of her friends of her sisters death, three or four people that I have never met who are my aunts friends called me, that spoke volumes to me about the folks in the da troof !! Although I already knew they're all blind leading the blind a**holes !
did any of you guys have these at your book study?.
I haven't been to a meeting since the 80's but the Book Study was held in my parents house, my mother used to call me and tell me about all the good food they had after the so called treat night, like chicken wings and lasagne was going to peak my interest to come back to Hall.
i did.. typically, it was the jw wife that pleaded with her hubby to please go and the husband, because he loved his wife/ family went along and endured the boring mundane meetings.. isn't it funny how everyone would cozy up to the "unbeliever" and invite him to "gatherings" even though he was very "worldly"?
?.
Well, that's how my mother and other sisters mentally beat down their husbands, worked in my mother's case however, my father finally got bapized 19 years after my mother and became an elder.
... to continue his case.. for those following it for the last almost 10 years, it is still going and now it looks like the wt is out of tricks and stunts.
he is going to win on all counts.. he has won major decisions recently.
the last trick the bastards at the watchtower are trying is to prove he is financially incapable of sustaining the suit.
And also BP this is not the first solicitation for money for the case, be it via the conference calls or on the board.

Generally speaking, just about all of the Bible is "misapplied" by others, that's why we have so many religions and cults out there !
However, the most outlandish twisted and turning of the scriptures I would think belongs to cults like the JDubs who actually have a scripture that they think backs up going out in field service.
I chose mines because of the many facets of hyprocrisy in the Borg, Shirley W was a family friend for years, have nothing against her at all, but getting back to the hypocrisy part, she and her roommate joined my then Cong when I was in Elementary School, I'll be 54 in December and they're still roommates if ya know what I'm saying, it's very easy to tell who's the man and woman in their "roommate relationship". There have been rumblings behind their backs with the excuse of "well, in due time Jah will clean up the organization" giving them a pass or something.
i always cringed so hard when a "brother" or "sister" would make some overly heartfelt comment about jehovah-something, usually related to a personal experience of theirs, and get all teared up and/or start crying.. once this fringe dude that's been df'd twice now was giving a talk and kept having these long awkward pauses where he looked like he was real stressed out, then he would start up again, stutter, slip up, and repeat the process until he looked down and went "i, i just can't do this" and walked off the stage and left the hall.. it also made my spchincter pucker when a young person would give some super devotional comment on how much they love big j and whatnot, which would make the congregation all smile in their hearts and wag their heads in approval..
Broken Promises
What I have the problem with is like I stated in my post she was unmarried and not baptized, how many unmarried and and unbaptized sisters had baby showers thrown for them, I think they were either Da'd or Df'd.

He only really got like two other people to follow him in applause, (probably waking up to the sound and joining in without knowing what was going on) but the whole congregation was like "WTF?"
That's a good one Fade Away.
Used to cringe when the schizo's used to call out and interrupt the meeting with their own thoughts and comments, however, one sicko elder thought it might be encouraging to throw one of the schizo's who was an unbaptized, unmarried sister of one of the Brothers in the Cong a baby shower when she got pregnant . . go figure.
