I see you're more or less in the proximity as I am Simon.
Used to be familiar with a few in Floral Park Cong but that was decades ago, but for all I know they could still be there.
does anyone have any experience with any of these congregations?.
i am moving to a location where i could go to any of these three congregations..

we get plenty of company men passing through our circuit, often filled with misinformation and lugging around a suitcase of guilt, they bring more guilt to the weak while praising the braggart pioneers and slapping the "righteous over much" elders.
why are the wrong people getting praise in this distorted community?
i know for a fact many of the elders i served with have issues with alcoholism, when "brother guilt" brought his emotional hurricane through our circuit, i had the chance to eat and help pay for his "seven shots of tequila", both him and his wife were not immune to over-indulgences.
No, JW's certainly aren't the only group with a "few alcholics", which is an illness, but they certainly have a whole lot of "extremely heavy drinkers".
A few folks here have shared there stories and a few have even said when they left the Borg they stopped drinking.
I guess it deadens the pain when you're living a lie, trying to follow every insane rule that seven old guys in Brooklyn made up, wouldn't be surprised if few of them could benefit from a few AA meetings.
.. .........................some people are truly in need..some are not... a man passing by on his 10 speed bike, asked me for $2.00 for a cup of coffee... .................................................."uhhh,no"... ............another asked me for spare change outside a super market... ......................................i said i didn`t have any... ...................so he say`s "how about a credit card?!"......lol!!...
.. ....................what do you do,when people ask you for spare change?...
..... .. ..........................................whats the most outrageous thing... ......................................you`ve been asked forby a stranger?...
Well, living in NYC and riding the subways daily I have a laundry list of stories/scams I could tell you, when you ride the same train at the same time you usually run into the same people.
The latest scam appears to be a group of Romanians who ride the subway, always a girl with a baby strapped to her holding up a sign begging for money, funny thing is although it's always a different girl, the cardboard sign they hold up is written perfectly, nice block letters, similar to what cue cards looks like, how does that happen when apparently you have no money for food or shelter but the signs are so perfectly written and they're all similar? Also, some of them ride the trains and play an accordion (a guy), while usually it's a little boy that goes from passenger to passenger with the hat, and sometimes there's a woman there also, with the kid strapped on her plus the kid and the accordion, must be a family affair..
pete seeger wrote songs that became the heart and soul of the civil rights movement- where have all the flowers gone, if i had a hammer, turn turn turn, waist depp in the big muddy, we shall overcome.... we traveled to the newport folk festival, which pete helped establish, and got to sing with the great man himself.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y2siieqy34.
.
Had no idea that he was the one who wrote Turn Turn Turn, love that song, but i though The Byrds wrote it since they recorded it. Also didn 't know until watching the news this evening that he wrote "We Shall Overcome"
we all know how the the witnesses love "encouraging experiences".
i will leave one for you.
enjoy.. 2014 yearbook, page.
I think the only thing kids that age look forward to in FS is knocking of the doors !! I recall doing it myself, they must be running out of things to print in the yearbook.
my memory of singing the kingdom songs go back to when i was a child in the 1950's.
they still hold a place in my memory and my heart.
how can something that is so much a part of your childhood not stay embedded in your heart.?.
What about that Hawaiian song from the purple songbook, I think it was #19, but can't remember the title. Has that one been dumped also?
The last song in the same book, Keep Your Eye on the Prize, has that been purged also?
i have never understood why the jw's did'nt have a sunday school or some kind of educational thing going for children.
it seems pretty selfish and antiquated.. i remember growing up, i was terrified of "satan" and "the demons".
not forgetting the "jehovah is watching you" crapola.. i think it's wrong letting young kids listen to fairly adult themed talks, items etc....it's got to affect them mentally.. any thoughts?.
My mother always used the sickening brainwashed response for why Dubs don't have a Sunday School, "the other churches always separate the children from the parents when learning the Bible, but the JWs and their children learn together at the meetings" . . . that's so pukeorthy, but I have to say, I wasn't sitting next to her but one of my friends on that Sunday afternoon in the 1970's when the Watchtower meeting went into a full-on explanation of oral sex, I was just eleven or so at thet ime, so I have to say my first time of learning about oral was at the meeting, how fitting is that for a house of worship?
just saw this... definately worth a few laughs.

tell people the world is about to end and they will do just about anything.. .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3_yfwuj2j8.
I'm reading this in FIreFox and havent installed the plug ins to watch the vid, but I"ll swtich over to IE9 later, but just from what you say about telling folks the world is about to end makes sense. Another big move to bring in folks, and my mother (and all the others Dubs I'm sure) used to use the line of after someone loss a loved one, Wouldn'nt you want to see your loved one again? THe Borg used to publish a tract called Hope for the Dead. I can hear my mother using that line now .. so pathetic taking advantage of people in a vulnerable state, and my mom should've known better because she lost her mother when she was just a kid
There was a major fire in NYC in mid 60's where 12 firefighters loss their lives, my mother wrote to each widow and of course she enclosed the tract (I remember she got a few responses from the family.
Also the family where the husband was pushed off the ocean liner, the Klinghoffer's, she wrote to his wife and two daughters and I remember one of them sent her a hand written letter back.
She did the same thing getting her time in with the astronauts that lost their lives on the explosion on the spaceship, the one where that teacher got all the spotlight.
All for the alimight timesheet !!!
came across 2 of these 'booths' in 2 days.
one at the int'l airport we landed at (hubby asked directions from them, they were knowledgable about the airport and very nice) and the other at a pier on the beach...hubby had to race over and say hi to them and i was standing there.
the 'brother' was an arrogant boob.
Thumbs up PTN !!
My local subway stop was temporarily closed this past Sunday because of a broken rail, so when I got off the bus, I ducked under the station anyway to cross the street, there was a Brother still standing in the station (in 9 degrees whether) with the mags in 3 different languages, I told him there was no service at that station, and he said but people are still using it to cross the street, I said "it's all about the time sheet isn't, always have to get in that time", he just said "have a nice day", they usually have a bit more to say, but he just went back to his statue act
