You had to be down to earth and be able to "shuck and jive" with them...
Not a good phrase to use these days new boy.
i 'm sorry all of this is not in order.
i'm writing as all this comes back to me.. .
my first room assignment was room 33 in the 129 building.
i'm sure there's probably not, but on jwmatch, which i subscribe to for laughs, i got their usual email today saying they found the perfect match for me, he's in hawaii, i'm in nyc, he's 40 and i"m 18 years older, perfect so far, right?
anyway below is the first line of his narrative introducing himself.
i am disfellowshipped and likely won't be reinstated until i retire from the military in three years.

That certainly caught my eye, but then he writes so much more, I'll just share a few more sentences and you tell me if there's some new light about serving in the military or this guy needs some more studying with the most pompous elder available.
I'm looking for a woman that tries to put Jehovah first in her life
I try to keep Jehovah and forever in perspective when thinking about what could be possible. I'm working on building the strongest relationship possible with Jehovah before his great and fear inspiring day, and hope that I can be productive in helping people build a relationship with Him also!
Amazing how he hasn't forgotten Almighty Jah while voluntarily serving this country.
Believe it or not I was debating between that or just another HP Laptop, I was reading the reviews about Chromebook and they seemed pretty good, of course some had a few complaints, but I was soooo close to getting until I saw an HP laptop on sale for $259 last Monday so I went with that instead.
Something I read about Chrome book in the reviews was that they don't last very long? Maybe some folks just got the lemons that rolled out of factory, wonder if that's really true.
just got my annual advertisement from illinois international travel (apparently run by jws).

i kid you not!!!!!
my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.
we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!
Yeah, with my mother on Xmas a few times, just what a kid want's to do on Xmas morning, or any morning for that manner.
My mother with her pompous JDub attitude used to say, "isn't it a shame that they keep Jesus as a little baby" , that from someone that was raised in the Baptist church and had two uncles who were Pastors.
this is obviously a question for born-ins like me.
so, how did christmas feel to you as a child?
to me it was awful.
my inlaws are polish, though my husband is a 3rd generation american, but the food traditions have stuck around.. we have christmas eve dinner starting with red beet soup with sour cream, pierogies filled with mashed potatoes or saurkraut, ham, polish sausage sliced and cooked with saurkraut, turkey (that part is american), krischickies (likely spelled wrong) which are crispy pastries dipped in powdered sugar, and apple pie (also american.).
there are goodnatured threats toward bad children who may need to get their dupa busted (butt spanked) and therefore santa will bring figismachen.
i also love golabkis (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage leaves), but these were not served this time.
i used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.
i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.
i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.
the following was from a friend of mine:.
yesterday for the first time in the 2 years we've been living here.
two 50+ year old women.
