disillusioned2 - Don't let that jackhole and his wife make you feel uncomfortable in your own home, Just flip the switch and imagine you stepped foot on their premises with a cigarette or blasting loud music, you know how that pompous attitude would ask you leave with no problem at all.

after graduating from high school, ms. naylor worked as a missionary for the jehovah’s witnesses in north carolina and florida before leaving the church in the mid-1970s, finding herself disillusioned with what she called the limited role that it prescribed for women..
Gloria went to the congregation that met in the same Hall as my cong. She used to be a pioneer in the 1970's, so when I read of all the degrees she has, that obviously happened when she left da troof since she was pioneer when it was 100 hours per month plus the fact back in the 70's college was DEFINITELY a no-no for dubs back then. She was also on the $25,000 Pyramid back then, and of course everyone was gossiping about should a JW be on a game show playing for money, I know she didn't when the $25,000, then of course the gossip would've been wondering if she was going to donate some to the 7 old guys in Brooklyn.

thanks Sparky, you're just a few years older than I am, I'm sure that one has been removed from the current songbooks

Do the old timers here remember song number 1 from the old green songbook, it was called "Hail Him" growing up in the sixties, I remember we sang that one just one time, you can tell it's taken from a gospel rock and roller, really got you going, I know I"m not the oldest here but does anyone else remember song #1 from the old green songbook?

I remember the old green songbook that Sparky mentions.
Does anyone know if the song Take SIdes WIth Jehovah is still in the songbook? How about that song from purple songbook that was written by a brother from Hawaii, you could tell it was straight out of Hawaii by the melody.
i have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.
all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.
thoughts?.
well earlier in the day when I left my response there was someone here by that name.

scratchme1010 - How did you ever sit through your JC meeting and not out that elder? His offense is bigger than yours since he's an elder, even worse if he's married with children.
i may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.
i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.
yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.
I've seen a sister on the subway train holding the rags in front of her for the whole ride. If she does that every morning and evening she must be racking up some serious hours, these folks are such blind jackasses and they don't even know it.
when you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.
for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.
i wanted to learn everything that i thought i already knew.. first things i did:.
If you think about it, the prohibited JW things you did after you left or the same things some JWs do while they still claim to be a faithful servant of Jehovah, but they'er doing it behind closed doors, sometimes, some of them have been caught. I worked with a sister who was a smoker on my first ever job, don't remember what she brought up about the JWs that caught my ear but I told my mother that I should report her to the elders, for some reason my Uber dub mother wasn't all for that, but I remember at our Circuit Assembly we found the elders from the sisters Cong and I told them her name and her offense, I was just a teen at the time, I bet they probably didn't do a damn thing.
