two folks above say to visit Hoover Dam, ONLY if the temp is in normal range while you're there, when we visited it was the month of August and the temp was 107, "but there's no humidity"! as they say, doesn't matter when it's that's high, have to say if I was the age I'm at now I wouldn't have even gone on that trip, I would've been carried out on a stretcher, or they could've just blotted me up with some tissues, I would have melted from the heat

What Was/Is The Dumbest JW Belief?
by minimus ini think the finished mystery book probably contains the stupidest beliefs ever recorded!
almost any prophecy publication but especially anything to do with revelation, is unbelievable!

James Mixon - We are God's chosen people...
Yeah, that's a good choice, since the JWs have been around about the same time as the lightbulb and other religions go back "just a tad" further than that, yet they are the chosen ones.
But I think just about all their beliefs are bat shit crazy, can't say God bless after someone sneezes? Really??

Why is the white race so different?
by Crazyguy inwhat i'm saying is the white race is the only one that has a verity of eye and hair colors , so what gives?
is it that this race was influenced genetically by a group of pre humans that didn't mix with other races?

Crazyguy - Ok my questions were never intended to be racist,
Really?? Are you new to this board, have you noticed that the longest topics here are about race, going on for 20 some pages? You really thought you would just a page of two of comments and that was it?

that pic of above is what I grew up on as a kid, but there was no 5-minute grits in the 60's, regular grits takes about 15-20 minutes to cook, when the instant one did come out though, I will say I like it much better than the regular, the regular ones didn't have that much of a taste to me, the instant one I'm sure is loaded with salt I'm sure plus the fact it just takes a minute or two instead of 20 minutes, so not as mushy

I remember mush too ! Just yellow cornmeal meant to fill the stomach when there was not much else, now people think it's some gourmet thing, if they only knew.

I'll pray for you
by I quit! inone thing over the years social media has made me painfully aware of is how many times i see someone use the phrase "i'll pray for you" and the outcome is bad.
recently a friend of mine who at one time was my manager where i worked got cancer.
a lot of people were praying for him.

One of the main reasons I don't believe in prayer is it's just luck of the draw
I'm sure right this very minute people are praying for their relatives right next to the hospital bed, needless to say, some will make it and some won't, so what do these ultra religious folks say when the guy in the bed on the other side of the room makes but their relative doesn't and they both had folks praying for them? There's really no answer to that
