Looking for some advice...
by NKyGuy ini have been inactive for the past 5 years or so.
i just could not bring myself to sit through meeting after meeting of the same thing any longer.. however, my wife and children are still regular and as such are preparing to go to the district convention next month.. for the past 4 years i have been able to avoid going to it with commitments to work, etc.
unfortunately this year it is not the case and my wife has made it very clear that she expects me to go with her.. how do i express to her that i don't want to spend 3 days of my life in uncomfortable clothing, sitting in a hot arena, listening to information that makes me want to stab pencils into my ears?

Have one of your buddies "steal" your car the night before you have to go. It will take the cops a day or two to find it and then you wont have to go. Too easy.

We finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11
by Mulan indave got home early on wednesday so we hustled off to the afternoon showing.
(cheaper seats).
it was amazing...................very compelling, and thought provoking.. one of the most upsetting things was towards the end when he revealed that of all 96 (not sure of that number) members of congress (senate and house) only 1 member had a child in the military, actively serving.

Well, I just got back from seeing 'JKF' and it was very moving and thought provoking.
The mentality of those who defend JFK is, to me, mind bogling and astounding. We see them on here all the time, the name callers, the mud slingers, the pseudo-experts always ready to copy and paste articles from equally narrow-minded non-thinking zealots as themselves. I wonder at their humanity and lack of feeling and empathy for the inhuman suffering that they so gleefully cheer on.
JFK was an evil, disgusting, inhuman fool who surrounds himself with villains, crooks and murderers. What a crowd they make. All in it for MONEY.
He was everything that is bad about America and it is to America's shame that he represented you. At least he wasn't elected though and we do not judge you from what he does.
I am sickened, disgusted and angry at why my country and our leaders have done, in our name.
Gee whiz Simon, that litte rant could describe every politician on earth. *boring*
You might as well have said "The Royal Familiy", but then again we KNOW they are a bunch of murderers.

CHEV babe,
Soldiers are Soldiers are Soldiers are Soldiers. We do not make the decisions. We follow the orders. Its been that way for thousands of years. Occasionally we get pissed off, revolt, and take over. The fact stands that members of the Military will Vote for Bush.

Bush has two daughters.................and many women are in the military. Do you think for a minute he would allow them to go to Iraq? Many of the members do have children in that age group, including the Senators from my State who are both younger than I am. They aren't in the military.
Whos says they have to be in the Military? Military service is not forced these days! Point being, the people who are making the decisions to go to war HAVE BEEN in WAR! Colon Powell has been through some nasty shit! Kerry was out BBQn the Viet Cong! Both were FOR the war! They dont WANT anyone to be in a combat situation. However, sometimes that what things come to. Once AGAIN, EVERYONE over in Iraq VOLUNTEERED.

only 1 member had a child in the military, actively serving. Why is that???? Hmmmm.
1) They are all old farts whose kids are in their late 30's early 40's. Most service members sign up when they are 18 or 19 and only stay in for 2-4 years.
2) Many service members join because they need money for college. Most members of congress have $$$$ and can pay for their kids education.
Why didnt Moore list the members of Congress who HAVE served in the Active Military? You think Bob Dole liked to send people off to war? You think Colon Powell hasnt seen people killed? What about good ol Kerry? NUMEROUS members of congress have served in the Military.
In fact, why doesnt Mr. Moore shove THIS list up his fat ass! :
