i will start....i can speak conversational albanian....thanks to the foreign language field...really useful in everyday life as a cleaner....sniff...why didnt i pick mandarin?

..would be useful when they take over the world....but one day i will find an albanian to talk to ...that or a needle in a haystack....the emmerdalian world of jw's

What's your culinary specialty?

reading hortensia's topic "menu" made my mouth water.

i remember in the 70's (when we used to be able to have lots of jw social get-togethers like picnics and parties) some of the friends would bring pot-luck specialties that were to die for!.

everyone has a dish they consider their "specialty" which gets high praise and generally requests for the recipe.

just going to see all the faders and disfellowshipped (or otherwise) that the families have dragged in, so you could plan a meet up?

you could tell who they are because no one would be talking to them..

i am enjoying john mayer's "heavier things".....my boys keep me up to date!.

we had so many exceptional artist for those of us growing up in the 70's,...i am curious as to what you enjoy now?what are some of the latest artists you enjoy?.

How did you dispose of your JW books? (Or did you?)

little drummer boy and i have a small house and we do not have room for the wasted space all of these books are creating.

here's a brief rundown of what we have:.

several nwt hardcover bibles, chinese bibles (lots of chinese students in our town), insight on the scriptures, concordances, a few bound volumes, song books, km books, reasoning books, the entire bible on audio tape, and more.

Simple life, which is better?

is living a simple life without debt or very little better than trying to have it all and having it now?.

i see this all the time in my line of work and the toll it takes on people, marriages and families.

the Daily-Dedicate-a-Song-to-a-Special-Someone Thread

rather than hijack another thread and inspired by fullofdoubtnow and dedpoets music for the wedding thread i thought i would start a little "dedications" thread - this isn't the sort of dedication symbolised by dunking though!.

(i expect to see ggbg and ofg here forthwith for some romantic dedications).. i'd like to dedicate the following to someone special - "bodies - by drowning pool" .

they probably wont see this, but the thought that counts!.
