Personal experience says they can walk on the edge of the WTS rules, and get free passes from other JW's when they do things un-becoming of a witness.

from the evidence i have found, it was all but etched in stone.
so why try and defend the wts by saying "they never stated armageddon would be in 1975", as one witness tried to throw back at me.. seems that you could show them all the evidence in the world of this false organization, and it will repel right off them.
is there some sort of "force field" kool-aid they're serving at the halls?.
MAD, I got a real problem with that reasoning, as will others.
That's like saying the editor and complete staff of Time magazine, didn't know that one of their writers was publishing articles on how "child molestation is a positive thing", in the magazine for a few years.........Editor gives the excuse....."well we didn't know our writer was writing that", then claiming it was the writer's stupid fault.

not sure i'm in the right section of the forum, but i thought i'd go where a ton of posters hang out.. can some one clerify for me and give me some experience notes about this subject that i came across on the net.. have jw's studied on jehovah being the grandfather and jesus being the father?
if so, where does this come from.

Funny stuff. I've seen a handfull of witnesses eating Christmas cookies before. I even said "hey don't touch unlean things, right?" That witness mumbled something as they were walking away.
How about a witness making a cake on the night of their "bday", and bringing it to work the next day for people to share in the leftovers, but of course it had nothing to do with their bday right?

Wow, that last part is exactly what I experienced when I went to an invite to a hall one Sunday. 1st and last time. It was like I was surrounded by robots or something. It seemed lifeless to me for some reason. So un-welcoming like, although the "appearance" of "Welcome" was how I was greeted. Does that make sense? I knew right away, these were not my kind of people to be faithfully attached to. It was scary actually. And you wonder why the JW numbers are so low across the world.

the new world translation (nwt) contains thousands of serious errors.
the following regarding john 1:1, one of the most noteworthy verses to jehovah's witness and ex-jehovah's witnesses alike, provides a case example of how and why the nwt cannot be trusted.
there some few scholars that translate the word was "a god" or "a god" or "divine" but they are in the very low percentages.. in greek john 1:1 says: "en arche en ho logos, kai ho logos en pros ton theon, kai theos en ho logos.
So I guess what really has happened here, being scripture is all God's given word, God meant to completely confuse us and make it difficult to know really what the writer was relaying, as opposed to just having the words mean exactly how they were written.
......Is this my understanding of your "John 1:1's - a God or God", could both be used, but know one knows for sure"?
