woops!
I had a girl about 15 chase me down at a gas station the other day, I knew exactly what she was doing when she headed from the car she was in with others.
I was quick to tell her she was part of a false prophet, and scripture tells us to stay way from FP's. She asked why do I say that. I told her to do some research. If I wasn't in a hurry with my family waiting in my car, I would have loved to have tried to set up a home study with them.
I'm sure that comment slid off her back like water on a freshly Rain-X'd car window.

Welcome Momma of 2!
I'm somewhat new posting here, a couple months or less? But have been reading from this site for over a year, and have found it very helpful with my JW situation, however I have never been a witness ( I work with 7 of them- 5 days a week for years now).
Anyway, listen, the "Truth" is not just another religion. Try not to slam other faiths by lumping them into the pig pen with the WTS religion. The "Truth", stands out like a big wart on a face, when it comes to comparing faiths.
Don't give up on God and Christ. You can be free to have faith in Christ with out the mind control and silly rules and regs they have injected into your life.
You will experience believers and non-believers here, and we respect them all. Take it easy and follow your heart, you're gonna end up in one of these categories sooner or later. But my opinion is that the WTS turns people into non-believers, when they get to the point they stop believing all the BS.
I heard a witness at work a few years ago, say that 9 out of 10 times, when a JW leaves the "Truth", they don't go into another religion. I never thought about that until recently, but I know now he was right, based on what I just said above.

If Children grow up in the Truth but never get Baptized, why no shunning?
by NotaNess ini kind of understand the "never made the real commitment" part, but isn't learning the "truth" for 15 to 20 years, and going out into the "world" as opposed to committing,... the same as choosing to not accept jehover's (aka wts) ways and be with the brothers and sisters in union?.
why is the shunning treated different?
is it because, there's always hope by the parents, that they will come around?, etc.. .

So it's highly likely that JW parents that see a son or daughter as being more of a "Rebellious" nature, they would actually literally tell their child or young adult to "pass" on the baptism thing for now, for fear of having to end up really shunning them down the road.
Think the GB would approve of that???

Funny, I posted this topic and then found blondie's topic about the 5/13/07 meeting, see below:

The "goats" would also include those husbands and wives who have believing marriage partners but who, in spite of the good example of their believing marriage mates, are found to be still unbelievers in the day and at the hour of the execution of God’s judgment against this enemy world; also, the children of a believing parent or the children of believing parents (fathers and mothers), which children were once "holy" as minors, as unresponsible children, but who have grown up to responsible years and have refused to become dedicated, baptized believers by the time that divine execution upon the "goats" begins.—1 Cor. 7:12-16.
