  way, way back in 1962, when i was four years old and my family relocated from harlem to queens, ny, our tuesday night book study, as it used to be called way back when almost universally in jw land, was conducted by a woman !!

  please don't think i don't remember correctly because of my young age at the time, but the sis.

  who conducted it is still alive, and i practically know her whole family.

  I was able to critically examine everything including my Witness-Bible based beliefs and found that upon such critical examination that we alone possess the True Religion.

  Scholar, you have the true religion huh? Show me anywhere in your scripture that proves Christ is an arch angel, like you are led to believe.

  just wanted to share something with you all.

  about a month ago i call my very active jw father and ask him a few questions about an awake article (the famous one oct 8 1968) and about the "obedience and submission" article and to call me back and give me some information.. well he did not call back and friday my sister in law calls me and tells me that some jw are saying i am an apostate.

  i ask were did they get that from ( because i have not talk to any jw about my findings, except my dad) and to my surprise she said my dad.

  If they insist on playing hardball, just make sure from now on, you use the term and name for them, very heavily...."Brainwashed", when you are talking to them and about them. "You Brainwashed people", etc, etc.

  To me Brainwashed is much more skin digging. Brainwashed implies there's a literal mental problem going on, where as apostate is just based on someones opinion and belief system.

  If that fails to get under their skin do the "Pro-Christ" thing and love on them no matter what.

  last week i saw a former jw sister of mine in a grocery store parking lot.

  i was waiting for my brother to come out from work.

  i sat there for a good 30 minutes..and she never moved a muscle.

  i told my wife i was going to sell everything: the houses, the investment properties, the cars, the boat, the business and give it all to the poor.

  she accused me of being a hypocrite because jesus didn't have any of the things i do, including "a place to lay his head.

  " so i lay down the challenge: i told her i would get rid of it all.... tomorrow.

  Give it to the Salvation Army. They ACTUALLY help people(and not just their own), with all kinds of financial problems, and in times of crisis.

  i noticed on saturday a small report in the mirror newspaper.

  one of the members of motorhead's (what a great band - i have seen them over six times!!

  ) elderly mother-in-law was a jw.

  I Love this topic too. These people kill their own based on a mere belief in something they dont even have a shred of proof, that what they are lead to believe, is even fact. So, go ahead and roll the dice baby! Cause thats all Theyre doing. New WTS slogan, "Gamble with your life, not your money"

  Going to anoher church?

  i just wondered if anyone has been to a church since fading, or getting out?

  Seriously, Churches are like restaurants. They are not all the same, for sure, and just like you might not like some restaurants, you'll have some issues with some churches. Please note, however, they all have food for living(spiritual food).

  Find one that suits your taste.

  A note on "passing the plate". My church doesn't, we have offering boxes in the back as well, or you can send in your helping money. Those plates are only a different form of a mailbox or box in the back. It's not a demand. Just another way of getting your donations in. I see people passing by our boxes in the back without putting anything in. Should I look at them as if they are refusing to help the expenses of the church? No, so don't look at people who pass the plate without putting money in it, like they aren't helping. They could be doing it another way, or maybe they are low on cash, or gave extra the week previous. You shouldn't go to church feeling pressure, so don't. And if you do go to a church where they pass the plate, feel good about helping where you are being spiritually fed.

  it seems to me that they're slowly dismantling the date theology that ties the end times to this period in history.

  first, they updated the generation teaching to mean a figurative generation, thus removing the possibility in the near future when all who were alive in 1914 are dead.

  then, they abandoned 1935 so the annointed will never die off, and prove their belief that the annointed will see armageddon wrong.

  They will change doctrine, publishing that the new light directs them to the real reign of Christ starting when the BeeGee's took control of disco in the mid 70's. BG backwards is GB. Totally didn't see that one coming. Their Watchtower and Awake mags will become a quarterly magazine featuring a "Sister Babe" of the quarter pin-up in the middle spread pages. Showing only her bare ankles, and neck of course under a bright floral dress. A hot feature section of the mag will be ongoing recipes for "Goody-night". The Governing Body and the annointed, will be decided via voting among all the witnesses...hanging chads will be reviewed by district JC's. The new official logo of the WT will be a tail wagging a dog.
