I know of several quite wealthy witnesses. I'm not an attorney, but I would think there would be some way to show that the society's brainwashing, mind controlling, and intrusiveness into family matters, could be a way to prove that the parent is not of sound mind. A lot of research would need to be done to prove how the WTS uses subtle suggestions, fear tactics, etc. etc. to unduly influence and even alter a person's psychological makeup to effect this change, but I think it could be done. Any attorneys out there in JWD land????

Getting cut out of Mom and Dad's will
by journey-on inhave any of you experienced this yet....being cut out of your jw mom and dad's will?
i posted the following on another thread.
because of one instance that i heard about last year from a friend of mine, i am concerned that this may be something the society is encouraging and may encourage even more as the new private issue of the wt begins to be released.

Have any of you experienced this yet....being cut out of your JW mom and dad's will? I posted the following on another thread. There needs to be some groundwork laid by ex-jws for contesting wills where parents leave all or most of their estate to the Society. I said in another post that with the private issue of the WT coming out at the beginning of next year, I believe the WTS is going to start goading people to leave their hard earned money and property to them. They've already laid their groundwork in an earlier isssue of the WT about how to donate such to them.
There needs to be a bevy of attorneys that are ex-jws ideally that have laid some heavy duty groundwork about mind control, brainwashing techniques used by the WTBT$, etc. in order to be prepared to prove mental incompetence of parents who leave everything to the Society. Just as the WTS has attorneys on hand for their immediate use such as the ones that fight the blood issue and others, I believe apostates (I use that term for lack of a better one) need to band together in some organized fashion and recruit their own attorneys for the issue of wills and financial matters.
I can see lots and lots of pressure from the Society coming in the years ahead toward this and we need to be prepared because otherwise seemingly intelligent folks of "sound mind" do have the kool-aid mentality when it comes to the WTS and rightful heirs need to be prepared.
Am I being paranoid, or do any of you think this is a valid issue?

A ex-jws friend told me that she thinks JW's will accept the "mark". How?
by booker-t ina good friend of mine that is an ex-jws and now is a born again christian told me that she thinks that the wt society will demand jw's to accept the "mark" of the beast.
i was wondering how would this happen?
will jw's that get baptized at assemblies have to say some sort of "heil the wt society" or will they somehow denounce jehovah and jesus and praise the gb?

By the way - does anyone know if it is possible to contest a will (should this be made out to the society)

Here's a thought. As I said in a previous post, with the "for JWs only" issue of the WT coming out, I think there's going to be more and more issues on $$$. This is pure speculation, but I believe the borg will eventually suggest that df'd, da'd, and inactive kids be cut out of their parents' wills. There are some dubs that are quite wealthy, and I venture to say that this threat would be enough to keep at least some of them stickin' around. (Just one more way to imprison the younger ones in the borg.)

Do you ever wonder why or how you come across things?
I think I know what you're saying. Every now and then, something too coincidental happens...something you need at that very moment in time. You feel like it was a gift, right?
This has happened to me many times and I always feel like it's more than a simple coincidence. It's a message...kind of like being spoken to by God just for a moment. I'm sure some will think this is mushy or too mystical sounding, but it's hard to explain. Let him who have "eyes" see and he who has "ears" hear. Holy or poetical writings of any kind, biblical or other, survive down through the ages for a reason.

Purpose...What is it
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel inafter losing my father-in-law last week, who is not a jw, but was a loving, kind and generous man, i find myself pondering that age old question about the purpose of life.
leaving the jw organization after 15 years, i am completely turned off to religion itself.
i am not even sure about the bible anymore.

It's all about the journey...not the destination. "Seek and ye shall find." The key word is "seek". You search all your life for answers. That, to me, is what it's all about. Maybe we'll know in the end...maybe we won't. But you search, think, analyze, speculate, ponder, and decide. Sometimes, something happens and you throw it out the window and begin your search elsewhere. But you continue the journey.

Gun control logic

I, for one want to thank you Brother Apostate for your research, well-thought out presentations, and pure logic on this issue. Your last paragraph says it all:
Now, you can play around with legalistic mumbo-jumbo and mental masturbation if you desire, but the Second Amendment is not going to see alteration or repeal, because too many US citizens understand why it exists, and what taking it away would mean. Nobody wants to go there, for all the right reasons.
