  Overcoming Objections

  i have been out for a long time.

  but, i remember "overcoming objections" was a big part of developing the jw mindset and was a regular drill at the tms.

  is that term still part of the jw lexicon?.

  .....bringing someone into the organization of jehovah's witnesses?

  personally, i had several bible studies, but thankfully, never got any of them all the way to baptism.

  my conscience is clear..

  i have been thinking about no room for george and his returning to the vomit kingdom hall.

  (miz, do what you need to do to get mentally healthy.

  i am particularly thinking about someone close to me, as well, and her severe fanatical attachment to the organization.

  What do you think about beauty pageants for kids?

  while channel surfing the other day, i caught something on tlc called toddlers and tiaras.

  i watched it!

  i was appalled, but at the same time the whole social implication of such a thing fascinated me.

  The art of letting go

  i have had to let go of many things in my life.

  as i look back, i realize i might have made some mistakes in the process and procedure whereby it was accomplished.. when one decides to leave something or someone they have loved deeply, it is difficult, if not impossible (for some), to just turn loose.

  there are physical, emotional, and psychic pains that comes with it.

  Is this faith.....or something else?

  a jw relative tells me that she still has faith we are in the last days and will see armageddon before she gets too much older.

  she will endure to the end.

  yet, in other conversations we have had, she talks about how she and her jw elder husband sock away as much money as they can into their respective retirement plans.

  How was your Mother's Day?

  mine was terrific.

  loving visits, cards, dinner, and togetherness.

  i know if i had remained a witness, at least one of my children would have left the borg, and we would probably not have the beautiful relationship we now have.
