  Are we stupid or what ? / GOD doesn`t have to destroy 99% of the human race to rid the earth of wickedness to rid the world of wickedness

  we are talking about the god of the christian bible right wether he be called jehovah,yahweh,lord,the eternal,or whatever ,hang on make that the god of the jews,as well as the god of islam,because they are all interconnected aren`t they ?anyway to get back to topic,god is all powerfull,all knowing,the creator who through his will all things were created..full stop..if it/he /she manifested itself today in the present world situation,religously,politically,nationalistically,he wouldnt have to slaughter people by the millions,all he would have to do is nullify the armanents all nations have,say to them,with the moneys saved spend it on helping your brothers in the world to provide food clothing and shelter for those in need ,disband national boundaries,emphasising we are all one human race,that we need to care for one another,and that is our obligation to each other.

  come clean on which religion if any should be worthy of our attention.

  if he is god almighty he has the power to enforce his will,only individuals who are obstinate would need to die out in due time.. their is no need for mass slaughter on the scale as depicted in revelation and elsewhere in the bible,.

  If God created Man in His image, then the man was absolutely perfect. He could walk around that Tree all day long and never be tempted to touch it, much less eat from it. His existence would be robotic, just living day to day doing whatever was instinctual. In order for Man to exist separate from God, able to make real choices on his own, he had to evolve Free Will.

  So, change the man by giving him something else besides God/himself to love and desire to please (Eve/woman) and you have a whole different scenario. The woman who was "flesh of my flesh and bone of my bones" was Adam's weakness. She was tempted into disobedience and Adam chose to die with her rather than live without her. That's when Free Will was finally born. Meaning: From the moment Man evolved to the point that he was willing to give his own life for the love of another, he entered a higher state where choice became more complicated and consequential.

  recently i have an obsession with past times, i guess it's called middle aged or old aged, anyway.. i'm sure anybody out there remembers people from their childhood or growing up and thinks not a lot about it.. i remember some good jw buddies and here's an ode to them.. i met one outside a local cafe, and we stopped and looked at each other for 45 seconds, or what seemed like forever.

  because we lived in each others pockets and we got on so well.

  we would sit at our ibm 286 pcs and play wing commander to the late hour, and there was no internet.

  They were old friends that just happened to be JWs, ballistic. I think we, as ex-JWs, tend to over-emphasize the JW part of it sometimes. Recently, I was invited to a function where there were four or five old JW friends there. They know I no longer believe the org has "The Truth" and that I haven't attended meetings in forever, but they seemed so genuinely happy to see me again and not a word was mentioned about Jehovah or the meetings, or any of it. We were just happy to reconnect on a simple "old friend" level. It warmed the cockles of my heart!

  SMART phones: I got my first iPhone

  for my birthday, my daughter (who works for apple) got me an iphone.. yes, i was using an old motorola flip-phone until now...like a geriatric captain kirk.. and i wondered why people had been giving me those strange looks before.... .

  anyway, imagine my reaction to the mammoth technology contained in an iphone.. talk about a miracle, this qualifies.. i'm particularly impressed by the onboard gps.

  i can type in a destination and the phone already knows exactly where i am and will plot a destination map onscreen.

  I have learned if there is ANYTHING you can't quite figure out about your phone, just ask a 12-year old. It's like they have been born with the "wiring" to understand it automatically.

  Have you ever noticed how The History Channel, The Biography Channel, The Military Channel, and even the Weather Channel seem to sometimes color the facts with a certain pov? Notice it sometime. Pay attention to the way certain clusters of programming seem to be trying to do a subtle indoctrination. I picked up on this not long ago while watching something on the History Channel. It seemed to pop out at me. I googled ownership of TV programming and guess what? General Electric (you know, Obama's buddy) owns them all....and then some.

  Can you be a JW in good standing and NOT go door to door?

  the 2nd president of the watchtower bible and tract society, j.f.rutherford was criticised by some elders in the (then) independant congregations for urging members to go door to door while neglecting to do so himself.

  rutherford responded:.

  frequently some elder says: the president of the society does not go from house to house selling books.

  Talk about patting yourself on the back!! Sounds like Rutherford had severe "I" trouble.....13 I's in that one paragraph alone! I guess one could remain in good standing without going d-t-d if you can baffle them with your b*llsh*t.

  we were discussing mary's role in religion after the gospel stories on another thread.

  i've read many places that worship of mary only gained steamed when people were terrified of god's judgment around the millenium.

  some wide tribulation occurred later so that ann was imoprted, too.

  There is a pull going on between those who "feel" a spiritual component to Life and those who reject that energy.

  Those who reject it, reject the stories and accounts as nothing more than fiction. Those who feel a strong attraction to more esoteric contemplations, "know" there is something else in play on a cosmic stage. You have to own your own pushes and pulls regardless of how others try to influence or convince you otherwise.

  Y'eshua and Mary Magdalene, and his mother Mary, (I think), were real people. But, just as 'Y'eshua told his apostles and disciples regarding his parables, his teachings have more than literal applications, so I think/feel that there is additional meaning in the interplay between The Son, The Mother, and the Daughter or Bride.

  I think the Scriptures have been manipulated by the masculine powers and Church heirarchy to suppress the feminine energy. Mary Magdalene was a stronger influence than the NT books present. "They" feared her and in the pull for power, she was virtually pushed out. But, perhaps she left her seeds to grow and sprout when the time is right on the cosmic stage of Life.

  When did this "written review" idea get started?

  for some reason, i simply cannot remember any written review being done and graded in all my jw time (1962 to about 1980).. have i completely forgotten this, or did it get started after i had left?.

  Why do I have a "dislike" for Paul.....actually, it's more like mistrust. I'm somewhat bothered by that, so I tend to sweep it under the carpet till I see a post like this one....lol. What I euphemistically called "new scrolls" was more or less a reference to the discovery of the codices found in Nag Hammadi.
