  What Draws You to a Poster?

  for me, it's warmth and compassion, being approachable, and not looking down on anyone.. also, taking the time to acknowledge and interact with newbies.. i love those type of posters.. syl.

  I like 'em all....the good, the bad, and the ugly. All of them have something to offer. We are all like flowers in a garden. Some require lots of light and gentle handling. Some are drought resistant and tough to kill...like weeds. Others are beautiful and colorful and stand out. Others have a foul smell, but once past that, there is a tender beauty. Some have wilted over and are almost to the point of no return, but with gentle watering, kind attention, a little trimming, and TLC, they begin to blossom and grow.

  none of them recieved the same lack of respect that our current President is recieving.

  Wow! You're too young to remember George W. Bush's presidency!!!??? Talk about lack of respect. What Obama is getting is nothing compared to the disrespect W got.

  The main stream media will highlight the crazy racists that hold up their idiotic signs and spout their vicious venom then keep the camera on them to make it appear to be the norm. Sensationalism is all they are after...plus they're liberally biased.

  Get out and talk to the majority of those that oppose Obama and his policies. Go to some real political meetings and local conferences. You will find it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with race.

  There were a few. But, it was post 1975. I had seen many older brothers and sisters sell off their homes and other material acquisitions to go into the pioneer work full time. They had to prove their faith was THAT strong in the WTS heavenly connection. They lost. I was out in field service on a Saturday morning. At the end of the block, I just suddenly stood there, and KNEW it was all b*llsh*t. It took a while to fully break away, but I NEVER went in field service again after that epiphany.

  large sections of the US are still racist bigots

  That is probably true, cantleave. I personally don't know any racist bigots now. The biggest racist I ever knew was a black girl.

  This birth certificate issue is not racist. It may look like that to you because some of them have jumped on the issue to spout their vile racist crap, but the issue itself is legitimate.

  I'm not ignoring anything. The valid short form was released. Ok. Fine. Good. Acceptable for most of us.

  However, SOME folks had a different opinion. Something wasn't right in their way of thinking. All of these people who doubted the validity of the information given to Americans are not wackos, racists, or hate-mongers. In their way of thinking, their request was valid and reasonable. Ok. Fine. We can easily fix this. Period. Suck it up....show leadership and caring for ALL Americans. Produce the long form.

  But, noooooo. Even knowing that his background might be a reason for this extra clarification, he stubbornly refused to do then what he did yesterday. Why?

  I still have two questions:

  1) - why did he wait so long to produce it?

  2) - after wating so long, why did he produce it NOW?

  Me, too. It has been an issue since his campaign for the Dem nomination. It was easily resolved. He should recognize that his background (NOT his race) is not exactly the usual, and much discomfort and doubt on the part of some people could have easily been put to rest by doing earlier what he did yesterday! Stubbornness? Arrogance? Divisive attitude? I don't know the reason.

  well, it just sort of came to me while i was driving.. the doctrine of new light is a false analogy.. why had i not considered this before?.

  here is what i'm thinking; see if you don't agree.... jehovah's witnesses are divided into three distinct tiers of membership.. 1.governing body anointed.

  2.clueless anointed.

  NEW LIGHT would be the sudden awareness THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

  And it was THAT "new light" that came to me. I was led out of that dark pit of phony baloney and the real truth set me free.

  1.music lessons for kids.

  learning to read music and play an instrument.. 2.memory training and math strategies in schools.

  #1 Extracurricular activities for children (even if it interferes with a meeting or field service once in a while :-)

  #2 Keeping up with technology no matter how old you are (iPads for 90-yr. olds even!!!!!)

  Oh, Sylvia....I woke up with this news and immediately thought about you. Told my hubby I had to take a few minutes to log on and find out if you're okay. Glad you are, but soooo soooo sorry for what has happened in your neck of the woods.
