  i just got this email this evening from the cto of my hosting provider: i am writing you in regards to your site www.dirtclod.com.

  we have been forwarded a copy of a complaint that was sent to our upstream provider regarding your site and the content which is posted on your site.

  it would seem that you are posting copyrighted sections and images which are legal property of watchtower bible and tract society of new york inc. please remove these offending letters and images which are being claimed are used without permission, or provide us a statement which allows you to publish/reproduce this content on your website.

  It would seem that if a work has no commercial value and no actual damages are caused, there isn't much the WT can do, except tie you up in court and try to get legal costs from you.

  You might try the defence that they are simply being vindictive. Also, I think (but I'm not sure), that you could make a defence that making the work public is for the public benefit, even to prevent harm to the public.

  Or you could just ask Kent to host your stuff...lol

  Let's see, the Iraqi'a managed to conceal an air force in the desert without the Allies knowing about it. It's taken three months to find them.

  If they can do that, then they can conceal WOMD's, which certainly wont take the same trouble or space. It's not difficult to figure out.

  The anti-war crowd have been crowing about impossible it would be for Saddam to conceal WOMD's in the desert for months. This shows how ridiculous those claims are. Hence the sullen silence.

  the governor of illinois just signed into law new legislation that says that anytime during sexual intercourse, if a woman (or man) says stop, then the other person must immediately stop ... or ... they can be charged with rape ... okay ... .

  so, i can see it now ... a partner is reaching orgasm and the other person says ... stop ... yeah ... okay, that's the law in illinois ... .

  oh, i understand the foundation of the law ... and i suppose it has its good purpose ... but ... .

  washington (cnn) -- the department of homeland security is warning that islamic extremists might be plotting suicide airliner hijackings to be carried out before the end of the summer, with possible targets including sites in britain, italy, australia or the eastern united states.

  "as of mid-june, islamic extremists may have been planning suicide hijackings to be executed by the end of summer 2003," according to the document obtained tuesday by cnn.

  "the plan may involve the use of five-man teams, each of which would attempt to seize control of a commercial aircraft either shortly after takeoff or shortly before landing at a chosen airport.

  Huh, well I'm flying to the UK in a little over a week, and there aint no chance in hell that I'll be lulled into a false sense of security by some piece of crap Islamist. I'm 6'1", 180lbs and healthy, and there's gonna be some friggin' pre-emptive action if there's any funny stuff. And I don't think I'll be alone either. Any terrorist who tries the same deal as 9-11 with shite like boxcutters is probably going to end up flushed down the aircraft's toilet in small pieces.

  What if your parents booted you out before that? Could you manage?

  I ask that, not because I'm trying to frighten you or anything (far from it), but because it is a definite possibility that you should realistically consider, even though it may be unpleasant.

  If the answer to those questions is no, give some serious thought about whether you should slow down your exit for a while, even play along with a study or encouragement received.

  You see, you are going up against a cult here, and unfortunately (and bitterly, I know) your family are slaves to the cult. This means that any leverage they have over you they may well use, even if that be of the brutal kind such as threatening to throw you out of the house.

  This is why people who want to leave either by fading or by disassociation, must get the groundwork done first. They must be planned and prepared, and able to support themselves independently. They cannot allow the Watchtower to have any power over the situation, for they will use it to keep you captive.

  So, you may want to think about enduring for a while longer before making the break. Leave home, get your own place to live, and become financially self-supporting (if you're not already). Also, become reconciled to the possibility that you may lose meaningful contact with your family. That way, when you make the move, the Watchtower cult will have no power over you, no hooks to manipulate you with.

  Sun Tzu put it simply in The Art of War. "in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won".
