i appreciate that others are entitled to their beliefs and opinions concerning such beliefs, but i am amazed at the number of posters, who, after years of being oppressed and mislead by religion, still manage to garner some sense from the whole notion of god / religion / spirituality.. cheeses the cynic.

Religion is merely another mechanism to advance the perceived self-interest of its promoters and practioners. Spirituality is that comforting feeling that results from indulging in the delusion that there is a higher power or purpose.

Anyway, everyone knows Britain is the centre of the world. Longitudinally anyway. Alright 0 degrees longitude and latitude is off the coast of West Africa, but who the hell wants to go there?
What really gets my geographical goat is when people refer to the Americas as "the Western Hemisphere". Hello! Ever heard of places like Portugal, Spain, Britain and Morocco?

elder d came to our house with a publisher who's 80 years old.
