  What do you know about Unitarian Universalists?

  i'm just wondering if anyone has looked into this faith or church or religion or whatever you might call it?

  it seems like a positive community, but i have also read things about it that seem borderline scary to vulnerable people who are looking to fit in somewhere... .

  i'm not looking for a religion to convert to or anything like that.

  Very mixed beliefs but in general VERY open-minded and accepting.

  I'm no expert but that was my experience with the UU church here. Pretty much you can make up your own god as long as it's only One power. I only went once.

  The emotions of leaving

  i have been reading post here and at other webb sites and how ones leaving or in the process of leaving were talking about how scared it is to take this step.

  i thought i would share what i had delt with 6 years ago, this month.

  it was may 2001, my son was in the hospital.

  i hear all the time how leaders justify why people should buy into and follow their guesses...and the whole defense is if you don't you have no faith.. what protects a "faithful" person from becoming prey to a self-exalted leader and their guesses?

  I am reading it now for the first time! I've got to say again that it has all the elements of a Harliquain novel. Murder, lust, bigomy, incest, deceipt, wife swapping, and that's just God's people. What's up with that?
