  My new neighbor was raised a JW and still feels guilt...what do I share?

  i need some help with what to share with my new neighbor.

  my hubby and i were talking to her yesterday when they realised they went to the same school and knew some of the same people.

  she mentioned one guy my husband knew and said she went to the same chuch as he did and then she said "he was a jw"..so i asked her if she was, and she said she was raised as one.

  Hi Megs,

  I agree with Changeling. Just be her freind. Maybe you can just share with her your experience of what made you wake up and take it from there. It sure is a small world!

  this is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.

  About rules and life

  having taken a long break from jwd, from personal circumstances not with any frustration or conflict here, and now spending a few days focused at jwd, it's great to come back.. the same issues are being posted, new posters with same problems, concerns, heartbreaks, eyes opened, just beginning to have their doubts confirmed.....how wonderful.

  with loving and caring people to help out.. i wanted to respond to journey-on's thread earlier but wanted to collect my thoughts and now it is locked.. the internet, cyberworld, discussions boards are a tricky thing.

  we (i think esp the people that come here) are very passionate about what we do here.

  Dinner guest- When you bring wine shouldn't they offer you some?

  i've gone to many a witness dinner where i would bring one or two nice wines, hoping we would have some with dinner.

  {to numb the boring conversations} only, to find the couple say "thanks" put it in the cabnet....and serve up lemonade..... and it's not an alcohol thing....two different brothers brought out there own "home made" vino instead, which taste like a mixture of fruit punch and vineger!

  Is Genesis account just a myth?

  there are many stories that make we wonder if anything akin to solid reasoning can prop up the bible's accounts of early life on earth.

  but perhaps this scripture is a key:.

  "these are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the lord god made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the lord god had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

  "Call me Ishmael...."

  I won't bore you with my story. When I started this journey the first place I turned was the Bible. I had never read it before. I read the NT in reverse practiacally, starting with Revelation. After I fininshed read the Gospel I turned to Genesis. I never finished it. I'd rather read Alice In Wonderland. I think it's myth.

  I'm stuck now because if I think the the OT is myth than it would logically follow that so is the NT. I can't let go of Jesus. Tomorrow is a new day.

  his girlfriend, non jw, much younger than him, really cute really sweet.

  She's always worried about losing him to this and to that. If she doesn't go to the elders I am going to nail her on her high and mighty stand she took when we were married.

  I don't know about your marital history with her but, I think she already lost you because of her "religion". She might be stupid enough to make the same mistake with her son. I don't know.

  As for your son, he's already inactive maybe he doesn't give a shit what they'll do. I hope he don't lose his mom to the WT$ but, it won't be the first time.

  At 3:00 am, I went down to the docks, got naked and posed for photos...

  there were another 2,700 volunterers taking part in an art installation by renowned nude photographer spencer tunick.

  not ideal weather for it, i have to say.

  it may be midsummer's day, but standing bollock naked, up to my ankles in sea water in the driving rain it certainly didn't feel like it!

  How much fun! I too am looking forward to the pics! I am a nudist. It is true that the novelty does wear off and it really is no big deal. When I lived in S. Florida I wouldn't go to any other beach than the nude beach. Volleyball was always a sight! I also was a member at a nudist camp ground in Dade City.

  Dogs on the bed yes no?

  this is a lighter topic.. how do you feel about your dogs on the bed?

  forbid it?.

  my boys are allowed on the bed all day but at night we say "down to the crate" the crate happens to be a very expensive leather couch with many pillows.. they listen to what ever we say, but the human bed seems to be the best place.. i change the sheets every other day.....can't stand the itchy, scrachties!.

  R, love the thread.

  My 2 dogs and 2 cats let me sleep with them on the bed. Sometimes if I really need to sleep well I will put the girls in their custom crate so I can stretch out and rest easy not being afraid to crush them. Otherwise, I share the bed with them and they are bed hogs!

  I read about this today. I think it was a mistake for Obama to say this. I hope McCain just ignors it otherwise it will become all about race. We'll see.
